Hallownest having believable biomes really sold it for me. You can literally see the Greenpath-Fog Canyon-Queen’s Gardens connection, or the Fungal Wastes having previously been fungal farms right outside the city (irl ants make fungal farms in their colonies) to feed the city. The Royal Waterways also irrigating the fungal farms with said water is also a nice touch as fungus grows on shit and water. Crystal Peak was connected to the moth tribe so it makes sense the Resting Grounds are right below it as the moths lived there. And the Hive, Coliseum, Deepnest and Ancient Basin/Abyss being outside of Hallownest proper and having the same rocky geography as Howling Cliffs (other than Abyss which is filled with shade remains) makes a lot of sense.
Silksong on the other hand:
>entire bottom of map is lava pit, except for the extreme portions of moss grotto and far fields - volcanic areas don’t turn to greenery right outside them
>the polluted water from the ducts goes and poisons bilewater and sinner’s road and…then…is completely fine as it rains down in greymoor?
>also the ducts has clean water at its far end that kills maggots, we see that it overflows out of them so why doesn’t it clean up bilewater?
>where the fuck did all the sand in wormways, sands of karak and blasted steps come from? they’re right below mount fay (cold area) and above moss grotto (lush greenery) yet the latter are also nearly outside pharloom so shouldn’t they have sand as well?
