I thought the main issue is how it broke up the gaming community and fractured them.
See all those threads about people missing when they could join servers full of chattering people or other online games like mmorpgs full of people talking but now it's all silent because almost assuredly the people are all in their own discords.
There's also the other annoying which i'm also annoyed by being many creators of especially mods or patches to games or other such accompanying pieces often only have their stuff hosted on their discord that you have to join to get.

discord doesn't require you use a name in the end, you can make throwaway accounts and just give them a string of numbers as the "name". you can even change the string if you want, or make multiple accounts, ect.

ironically the discord is the least drama-heavy part of the musical. having a name makes it possible to identify people sure, but that also gives them a layer of accountability where they can't stir shit constantly and have nobody know it was them.

I've been off and on yugioh a lot through the years. Dropped it around the synchro era, picked it back up at the very start of xyz, dropped it at pendulum, picked it back up half-way through links
I honestly don't hate modern yugioh. There's an archetype that is literally just "power rangers assembling the megazord as a big dumb unkillable beatstick.
Said megazord can also be made by playing harpies, xyzing them into a boat, and then turning that boat into the megazord, which you can then turn into a mecha that can spit out, at minimum after doing this, 2 full board wipes at any point during your opponent's turn.
In other words, sexy bird women drive a boat, which turn turns into a power rangers megazord, which then turns into a multi-use tactical nuke robot. The fact that you can do that in modern yugioh is fucking hype and you can't tell me otherwise.
It's ridiculous, and while sometimes it's "no fun allowed" and waiting for the opponent's turn cutscene, other times it's awesome.
I actually tried writing a song about it for the musical at one point but it was generally agreed upon that it felt a bit too /tg/ for the musical, eventhough it was about master duel.

We are going to need more people mixing songs so we can work through all the submitted vocals in time for the deadline, so I've prepared a resource of torrents for plugins you can use to help you get started with mixing your vocals and stuff later on, I pulled all of them from RuTracker: https://files.catbox.moe/ev15il.zip
Use Qbittorrent to get the torrents to download. Torrents are basically download links, so just having the "torrent file" won't give you the plugins.

For audio software, I recommend REAPER. It's not as easy as Audacity, but once you learn it you'll be able to do whatever you need: https://www.reaper.fm/download.php
Recommend looking up some guides for getting started with mixing, but worst case you can ask in the thread.
We have a mixing template for it, included in the torrent ZIP.

I don't know the full context of what you're looking at, but there are ways to make ""Meta songs"" that are at least a little less obnoxious. /v/ the musical makes music about /v/. that's vidya (and platforms), board culture, industry, and few exceptions. we're here to have fun while praising the good and shaming the bad of the industry. we're not just here to jerk each other off about how special we are. we don't need to insist upon ourselves. it inevitably creates drama and gets the thread also talking about itself instead of the topics that belong on the board. it's possible to make good meta songs, but the best meta song possible is still not something that truly belongs here, it is a self indulgence of "I don't need to stick to my diet, a treat won't hurt" that puts yourself above the project as a whole.
