I was in gamestop today with my 6 year old and everyone else in the store was 25+, and it was full. Every other place in the mall had sonic squishmallows and pokemon coffee mugs and other juvenile shit that was clearly being marketed at the 30+ crowd.

It's quite expensive, and I fon't know that the hardware specs really justify replacing my original Switch. Nintendo charges too much for every facet of their experience and I would still pay for it if not for the noticeable drop off in the quality of their mainstays.

I have one, but it's not really worth it at the moment. Two single worthwile exclusives with intenod announcing jack shit for a new 3D Mario, no new Zelda announced either, Metroid is a switch game, Pokemon runs on the switch etc
Also most Switch games ARE NOT built to allow 1080 undocked, so you have the problem of the Switch having to scale 540 or lower to 720, but WORSE
Have a switch? Unless you play Zelda, that exclusive you want to replay ost likely wont look better and may run a bit better because lots of games are locked to 30
I think that the only game that actually competently reaches the 120fps the 2 can output undocked is Silksong, it's this bad. Wait two years or so till there's an actual library and actual games patched to use the hardware, even Minecraft is still just the Switch port

It's always been like that. Collecting kitsch or anything else has always been for older people with money. Kids don't give a fuck about coffee mugs, nor do most of them have money to blow.

Everybody I know has a Switch 1
Only one person I know has a Switch 2, and he's a bit of your sterotypical brand loyal fan, nothing against him.

The average person who makes up the majority of the Switch 1 userbase is not buying, or interested in buying a Switch 2. I've been telling people this, and they autistically ask me for 80 peer reviewed studies to prove how I can infer that it's not selling well after all the initial consoomer launch. I live in one of the most populated upper-middle class areas of the country, and every store near me sold out for like a week, and then has had fully stocked shelves ever since.

One of my buddies bought a Steam Deck like a month before the Switch 2 launched, and yes he has a Switch 1.

I don't know why it's so hard for the cattle/masses to just understand basic reality without some "official" having to confirm it for them. Nintendo has an interest in giving the impression that it is mega popular for as long as possible, because that generates more hype and some extra sales.

In a year this will be common knowledge and everybody will act like they said it all along, like they always do. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some sort of discount program for games or consoles to move them, kind of like the 3DS, but not that desperate.

I used to think the 'Nintendo' as a "kids console" was an unfair label from the NES-Gamecube era. Wii was a family machine. Wii U a weird little machine I can't square. Switch and Switch 2 are both console that scream arrested development to me.
