Lets say you're going towards the rail you want to grind from the left (the rail is to the right of your character) and you're not skating switch or anything weird.
Once you ollie towards it try to "land" slightly to the left of it.
Once in the air after the ollie pull back on the right stick and rotate quarter circle to the right and hold it there.
You should land with your tail on the rail and do a tail slide.

For a nose slide push the stick up and rotate quarter circle to the right.

If you want bluntslides land more to the right of the rail (your jumping over it) and rotate the stick to the left.

For board/lip just pus the right stick to the right or left (no rotation or quarter circle movement.)

I remember liking skate. when I was a kid, but this game is seriously pissing me off and I don't know what to do about it.

I feel like the turorialization is dogshit. They're like: "here's an ollie, here's a kickflip. Now, go launch into this pipe and earn a grillion points in one trick" and it just ramps up from there. Like I'm in the starter zone and one of the point gets was 750 flip trick with a grab and 180, and doing several variations of that would get me like 600. Had to do some random z-flick flip and a backflip to hit the point par.
Also, even though it's the whole point of the game, collecting all the Simon says shit like "kickflip over the stairs" or whatever just isn't fun anymore.

I played the last mobile build and I have a pretty old and shitty phone. The game did run hit, and was locked to Streamlined controls. I tried pairing my controller with Bluetooth, and it did work, but I could play the game with my actual control setup. So even at 30 fps, 360p on my Pixel 6s, I would have put up with it. Here's a challenge: Try to land any trick from this bridge to the roof below and clean exit through the gate. He's right, pulling out the camera changes how it looks, the biggest reason being that there is an uncanny valley in terms of movement as your mind can tell that they aren't actually rolling over surfaces and having real world factors applied. This happens with pretty much any games with motion other than those where you move on foot as good walking animations can disguise it.
