So far the main character has been more preoccupied with the fact he's now a rat than the fact he's now a female rat, showing little more than utter disgust at the prospect of sex or egg laying. It's only "recently" (aka three fucking years ago) that he's actually put any thought into it, and all it did was add to his identity and existential crisis.

The story so far has been presented as a story about turning into something strange and alien, not some self-serving fantasy about wanting to be the little girl. But only time shall tell how it'll go.
Maybe another decade from now some anon'll be able to tell you "yeah, it is a trans thing, zero doubts about it"
