PEAKer is a must have, allows you to modify player count at your own will and has a feature for anyone that has it installed to fix spazzing out players from late joining, avoids things like crashes or glitchy physics. Also comes with a ban list
Advanced Console has many good useful commands like item spawning and teleporting, and has pretty a graphic interface option if youre not familiar with dev consoles like in source engine games
ItemMultiplier is highly recommended if you run +6 player lobbies, or else luggages will run dry in no time
Lastly while not necessary its useful to have one of the two text chat mods available, doesnt matter which one as they work together fine, but its useful to have one to know what our mute players have to say aside of gesturing and pointing

Hm, maybe something more dynamic than just "a timer".
How's this:
The more you cook the item, the less Hunger it will cure (leeched nutrients), maybe less or no Extra Stamina at all compared to cooked once, but it will also proportionally extend the item's timer.
So there's player's agency in trade offs, rather than just a simple "cook once and forget until it's spoiled and now I'm sad"

A fair point, but a lot of features in the game are intuitive

And pretty much every functioning person knows that food spoils, especially natural ones, and when they see the bar slowly going down, I believe they will immediately pick up what's going on.

One time, a player left my 4p lobby to join another 12p lobby, but that's about it, there's nothing to be scared of. I simply closed my lobby to do something else and hosted later. It's not "once a lifetime" experience.
