I don't buy too many games anymore, and a lot of the time it's when they're on sale, which is usually a few months after they come out.

But when you have millions of kids who only play GTA Online, Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft exclusively, it kinda skews the data.

People like to shit on contemporary output but I think this is a lot more to do with backlogs, the prevalence of super time sink games like MOBAS that can suck thousands of hours away and still have a hypnotic grip on its players, and the overall ease of accessing the entire library of the past. What was once a trip to the game store to get whatever they physically had is now a click away. A 10/10 made today has to compete with every 10/10 that came before it more than ever.

Yes, some people exclusively run indoors. Some people argue running on a treadmill doesn't count because you're actually staying in place, but they are just too poor to run on an indoor track. This is me and I've been doing for a long time because games are just too goddamn long to beat. Even a "normal" 60 hour game takes like 3 months to complete.

Really depends on the price for me. When it comes to new games then yes, it's only 1 or two a year. This year I only bought Expedition 33 and Ghost of Yotei. The next one I'm planning on buying is GTA VI. But I buy some older games here and there when they are on sale and they are almost never more than 30 eurobucks.
