I think I died 2 or 3 times during the whole beta to SMGs and the maps were about as close range as you could get. Engineers were almost exclusively using carbines because carbines all had some of the most busted stats and overpowered bullshit mods on them that don't belong in the game.

beta was fun(mostly because it was free) but this is EA. They'll fuck it up.

It's been that way for 3 Battlefield titles now, Bad Company 2 was the only game to have meaningful destruction. We haven't had terrain deformation for even longer, they couldn't figure out how to fix the bugs with it in the BF3 beta and said fuck it.

I played the game on the beta and it ended up exposing how my new graphics card was actually malfunctioning/broken and needed to be returned via warranty claim, it's one of the few games that was very sensitive. I've been waiting to get my card back from replacement ever since. So I'll be jumping in much later than everyone unfortunately.
