I don't know a whole lot about Digimon releases and lore. But playing this game I assume that Aegiomon is an older Digimon, but Aegiochusmon and the connection to Jupitermon were created for Time Stranger. Is that accurate?

These Royal Knight fights range from complete nothing burgers to absolute bullshit, Magnamon hits like 10k damage while healing half of that. Still fun, but I hate the presentation of them here and I miss the panning camera in battles from CS

Old lore doesn't apply much here since this game acts as an origin story for the O12 while changing alot of things to work better for the plot. Good examples are Junomon, who's Hysteric Mode triggers for a different reason in the game and has a very different relationship with Jupitermon, Sirenmon who no longer has a form of companionship with Aegiomon(which is why they share design elements and is why Aegiomon's DRB and in game profile mention her), Marsmon is no longer a dirty boxing fight tard.

Just completed the story in about 30 hours. Honestly mixed feelings about the game. Pacing wise it was alright until the whole fire and ice dungeons that took forever to do before you could hit agent level 7 for Ultimate/Mega. Not that it really mattered gameplay wise because Digimons in this game are just stat sticks that are barely differentiated from each other and you just choose your favorite to max out, but it just felt blueballing to be gatekept that long. Also even though HM/CS had a lack of maps, there's no excuse for this game to be triple A priced and have the same problem but feel even more repetitive and mundane than HM/CS because of the way the story is structured and how the maps are reused.

The point where Jupitermon shows up felt like thats where corporate said to the developer team that they're shipping the game in 6 months because they just dumped everything on you. The rest of the story in a 10 minute cutscene along with like 50 side quests. Then you go fight the final boss and the story concludes in another 5 min cutscene. Idk desu, it just felt like there was no pay off. I felt nothing. I barely cared about Aegiomon and Inori from the beginning. On the other hand HM's ending had me tearing up. This game felt like it took itself too seriously like a real mature JRPG with real mature themes and the execution just wasn't there.

HM/CS was better imo. It also had a better soundtrack.

That's the loop. Outer Dungeons and bosses are your real challenges, overworld enemies are grind fodder. Getting a proper comp together between a support or two for each attribute and both magic and physical damage dealers for each attribute is a requirement, not a suggestion even if you grind out the ass. Save before boss quest markers, swap around as necessary, don't be afraid to surrender a fight if your dudes are off-attribute so you can swap to ones that are right. Always, always keep both magic attackers and physical attackers of the same attribute in your swap slots.

I was doing the Olympus 12 boss rush and I was slowly chipping them even with 9999 ATK with Acceleration Boost at level 50, while at level 99 with 9999 ATK i can easily one shot most them with Acceleration Boost.

So for those who're curios. Yes you can get jupitermon before the final battle but you need to make sure you don't overspend on the bonds of loyalty page. To have just enough for the literal final battle you need to keep at least 190 points worth of nodes clear in the loyalty page, or if you want to actually use jupitermon for the final level after sidequest hell then it's going to be 390. For reference either method should still let you grab the entire left side of the tree and any of the non-high field cross arts

That said jupitermons signatures are underwhelming. I see a better use case for regular over WM since a 3 turn elec down + def down is a pretty good debuff

A lot of the NPCs in the game actually has their own mini story arcs between the story progression/8 years time skip.
Some of them evolved between the time skip so they could avenge their fallen friends, some had their friends or master die on them, or funnily enough the Punimon that hides in the fridge in the house in Central Town didn't change at all and couldn't even evolve after 8 years.

Random stuff

-Reverse also flips all element interactions, resistance/weaknesses flip and when you attack the enemy resistances also flip, immunity becomes a super weakness, and super weakness turns into immunity.
There's also some funkiness where if you have reverse status, when you attack you the element resistances it's flipped so you can't use light attacks on someone with super weakness to light for example. Also attacking someone with an element down debuffs treats it as a resistance.

You can do stuff like reverse yourself to change your weakness to a resistance/immune. If your attacks are dark, and the boss is immune to dark, you can reverse yourself and now your dark attacks do super effective damage. Reminder this also flips the attribute triangle but it's something you can do

If the boss uses reverse on themselves, you can also reverse yourself and now the matchups back to normal. And vice versa

-Nullifies unfavorable compatibility also goes through element resistances
-Buffs and Personality skills go above the stat cap in battle, and they stack. Overheal stacks with Stout passives as well
-You can use counters on the boss ''charge up'' super attacks, you need the correct counter but you can just use the counter skill after they finish charging, and they eat your counters while you take 0 dmg
-Calaramamon boss can't be dispelled, it works on all the bosses after her, I think some bosses have a can't be dispelled state or so iirc dispels stopped working on Dianamon too when she was dying but I'm not so sure about that one
-I just beat Mega+/Gaunlet and you really want to max stats on your main team, the last boss does 6k to 7k hit to a team of 9999 def, and he does 18-21k dmge to Aegiomon who had 3500 def, Great Embrace saves you a lot of RNG headache
-I think you only need to beat the last boss on Mega+ but the hardest Mega+ fight was Aegiochusmon/BlackTailmon fight in the sewer with Dagomon/2 Chyrsarimon
-Junomon has her hair down in Hysteric mode

That makes sense, pretty much the main reason cerberusmon stayed on my team the whole game. AoE dmg&status signature + single-target null unfav comp signature alongside the highest speed on my team meant I just needed to give him a magic offense option and the rest was healing, buffs and character reversal. I probably could have found a mega that did the same thing even if I was vacmaxxing, especially since most megas have 2 skills now but I grew attached to the not evil dog

I honestly don't think loading is that big a deal.

The real difference maker is whether or not you happen across a strong agent skill strategy when you go in fresh and blind. If you prioritize quality of life skills across different trees to max your field guide you'll have a way rougher ttime than if you go all in on stats in one tree and set up a team that exploits it

Assuming you're doing all your sidequests as they come up, you'll unlock megas 3-4 Areas from where you are now. You've still got several more big bosses before then. If you aren't already, now might be a good time to invest in a dedicated buffer/debuffer to help ease the damage that some of these bosses can push out and help catch your damage up with their hp pools.

Any mon with tanky stats and Fortifying Charge as their Personality Skill can take you far. Personally I used Whamon and Duramon for their bulk.
Reset Body is also a really good attachment skill to have against bosses that buff themselves, and Acceleration Boost/Spell Boost can help keep the damage of your main dps mons up on turns where your buffer doesn't need to heal or dispel.

Okay so, I just got back to Junomon's temple after getting Megas, and I am confused about a character.
Didn't we killed Witchmon? How is she back? Titanomon is back but as a baby digimon, so why is she again Witchmon? does this means Ranamon is also back somewhere in the world?

HM was such a slog to play that I could not give a shit about the story or characters after a certain point thats the problem with comparing TS with CS in which the former has a fairly nothing story and bland character but it such a leap in gameplay and design that its just easy to come back to and while CS/HM had more effort put into the story and cast they are just flat out not fun to play due to the clunky interfaces, slow transitions, the backtracking and the fucking PIERCING. I think you guys need to accept the fact that Bamco isn't always going to half ass these games to get them out on time or else you're going to get a Digimon Survive situation where the game beats are so terrible it doesn't matter how "good" the story and characters are.
