I have a NES, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP and 360 stuffed into various closets and storage rooms. Most were just the consoles I or my brothers had growing up. I've always mostly been a PC gamer however so none of them saw that much use, other than maybe my PS3. I think I've only ever played 2 games on the PS4 and 360.

I had a Gameboy and GBC as well but I'm not sure if they got thrown out or my brother has them somewhere.

Most of the doubles were because my parents had split custody and my father played video games, so Id get the hand me downs as doubles. These days I just collect the different revisions.

I have a Steam Deck and a lot of hardware beyond proper consoles too but you probably don't count that stuff.

I can get Virtual Boy... maybe, but the rest of the list has a solid library. GCN had Rogue Squadron II, Animal Crossing, and a couple of gamers on other systems. More than the Xbox? Not even close.

I got my collection from yard sells, having just owned them from my childhood, stuff people had just given away, and from what I've bought. The only other friend I had that was into my retro game hobby is dead now so I haven't really bought anything since. I've just kinda stopped and just play them exclusively these days despite nobody to play them with anymore.

Dreamcast, Xbox, PS2, Wii and for everything else I use a mister. PS3 is technically retro and I picked up a slim a while back to stream movies onto my widescreen ED CRT but have since put that away because I found out about Mistercast which is miles better.

Copped everything on ebay because all my old consoles either died or I gave them away at some point.

I've had surprisingly few for someone who's almost 40.

First console was a hand me down 2600 from an uncle. Then I got an n64 for christmas, my actual first console. Same thing with ps2 and 360, and then some years later I bought a model E (also a ps2 slim since to this day I still have no idea what happened to the fat). Also had a gameboy colour and 3ds.

I always wish I had a snes or mega drive, but got to play those at other houses. My sister also got a ps1 which I played more than she did.

I dug an original Xbox from the trash once. It was free and it was even modded to have emulators

all i ever had before moving to pc and never looked back
