>play highly rated and popular "masterpiece" games
>get bunt and drop it halfway through
>play a mid game nobody cares about, not even with the intent of beating it but just to try it out
>end up finishing the whole thing
anyone else like this?

stop playing games that insist upon themselves

Maybe the mediocre games you picked out were ones you had genuine personal interest in, and the big popular ones just ended up being handed to you by countless recommendations online. I dunno if that's the case but it's actually a really neat thing to think about now that you've mentioned it.

Someone who genuinely picks up something jank but beloved like Raidou will probably have seen something deeper in the game than someone just picking up Ocarina of Time or Skyrim something, but I dunno. Definitely not something that applies in all cases but I just never thought about the varying depth of how we can decide to pick up new games.

Yes. I was like this with AAA titles when I first upgraded my PC, and could play all the latest slop. It was miserable.

Metaphor. Maybe it gets better later on but I already played it for like 10 hours and it feels so barebones I can't keep playing it

Dude I have so little reason to keep upgrading at the moment. I love Street Fighter 6 but that's about it. I'm only interested in a new GPU so I can shitpost making my own slop with random AI tools rather than buy and play AAA slop.

This is true. That's why mediocre gems with no marketing always feel so fulfilling

You might unironically be low IQ
No shame in it, I'm like that with anime too, can't watch any of the greats but I can gulp down an entire season of shonenshit in a day

I also dropped Metaphor, I really liked the setting and stuff but I just can’t get into the way Persona games are paced
>you cleared the dungeon, go talk to people for 4 hours
With these really kinda basic stories. The bat guy was cool though.

It sucks having nobody to talk about your game with even online, I like getting new perspectives on games

I'm playing muramasa atm. Getting the true ending before the dlc. 100% recommended if you like okami or wind waker
