Its usefulness mostly depends on the racetrack. In the Cancer race the final corner is almost entirely part of the middle leg, if Redshift procs there it's wasted and does nothing. Apparently it can also proc later but that's a gamble, which is not terrible if you have no other skills to buy.

Updrafters could actually proc even for pace if there are enough fronts in a race, I would pick Redshift and Updrafters in this case. Catching the front runner with angling is going to be more of a problem than other pace runners which is why I don't think the pace debuff is worth it.

Your skills are so-so, not bad but I would try to get a better run.
Ideally you want 601 stamina and 301 guts to trigger the bonus effect, and as much power as possible for better acceleration. Also aim for tail held high. The further you are from front running the more power you want. Not to mention the blockushins.

I tried it out cause my cards are pretty weak, MLB only gives you 2% friendship bonus and more/better hints so you can keep it at LB3 if points are scarce.

The card is good once it gets going but 0 friendship start is rough, the events are nice and provide decent speed boosts at the cost of energy, if you get max energy twice it actually lets you take full advantage of well-rested without having to do very risky trainings.
