As for my assumption, he would hate the medium, I think he'd give it some points for the ludo, but would probably say its outweighed by its overwhelmingly frequent use as brainless timewasting. If you were to hand him the historia books or something and mention nothing of the games (or have him separate the two) he would most likely think botw/totk were better than the rest of the series because they are poetic tales (a favourite of tolkien's) versus the more straightforward stories of ocarina or twilight princess. I would also say that totk's theme of "you cant do this alone" would be more appealing to him than the typical "you are the only one who can do anything" fantasy.
