The SNES was Nintendo's best console, though, because full 3D games weren't being developed yet. Going beyond Mode 7 was a mistake. There's a reason the N64 and GameCube sold like shit.

gamers HATE good consoles
its also because Nintendo implemented its mechanics in the worst way possible. if they made the console a bit more powerful, replaced wii remotes with proper controllers and focused more on the gamepad being able to play games remotely like steam link, i do think it could have not flopped as hard
>>722923385 (OP) >nintendo's best console
The actual console was awful.
There were some decent games, but the experience of using the console was absolutely dire. >t. wii u owner

More or less. Assuming the NEC/TOKIN cap issue is a genuine issue that pervades the PS3 that extended into the slims (I believe until the CECH-2501A models).

Yep, the PlayStation was the beginning of the casualization and death of vidya. You are nothing more than a maggot infesting its rotting corpse.

This, i even ignored threads about it here on /v/ because i thought this was just portable wii. Only few months after the release of wonderful 101 did i realize this was a new console
>>722924245 >NSMB slop >tech demos >good games that came out too late (everyone had already moved to proper 8th gen consoles) >remasters >practically no third party support because this is a 7th gen device trying to compete with 8th gen machines

I bought one at launch. My experience: >hyped up to be a serious core gamer console with real power >launch exclusives ended up sucking (Zombi U), best launch title was a Sonic racer lol >multiplats from late gen 7 ran surprisingly poorly and in many cases Wii U was getting later entries to series that were never on the Wii (Mass Effect 3) >the best Wii U games came later in life and at a trickle pace like a repeat of the Gamecube's second half >gamepad was cool enough but the console should have shipped with a Wii U Pro controller as well >launching with 8gb and 32gb of internal storage was laughably cheap even by 2013 standards >third party support peaked at launch and fell off fast and hard
Ended up switching to PS4 and PC for that gen.
>>722924573 >8 or 32 GB internal storage >nintendo expected players to use 2 TB+ external drives if their manual is to be believed >4 usb ports >can only support 1 external drive at a time >couldn't even transfer data between external drives until an update >low power usb ports so certain drives would not work and even crashes the whole system and possibly corrupt your data unless you used a splitter or had a HDD that plugged into the wall separately
mental

Because ti released in 2012. Back then, you only had few woke stuff, sjw, tranny, political bullshit. Even zoomers weren't that bad
It all started going downhill with Trump being elected, every decent subreddit closing, COVID and the twitch streaming bullshit, Nintendo Switch and the basedboy shit
Right now they could sell something like that for 700e and it would still sell. Back then, people weren't as dumb as now
I didn't buy it but in retrospect I should have because I love Splatoon now. I ended up buying Splatoon 1 so I could play the campaign and gave it to my nephew who owned the Wii U I borrowed kek

They were using the same hardware as the Wii, which used the same hardware as the GameCube. Being 10 years behind the curve on graphics was inexcusable when the Wii U was released in 2012. Predictably no third party developers bothered with it and even Nintendo made fuck all in terms of games for it. There was no Zelda or Metroid game for it, and the Mario game was the worst 3D Mario game they ever made. I'm a huge Nintendo fan and I didn't even buy it because I was so fed up with their bullshit.

Consoles are carried off of their Platformers, RPGs, Shooters, and Action Adventure Games, all other genres while worthwhile do not sell consoles to actual gamers, and with that you only have 4 worthwhile games
