It's in a pretty good place. Can't say how good/bad it is compared to OW1 since I dind't get the chance to play that one. I prefer 2 over the classic mode they brought back recently though.

Its in a pretty ok state right now. 6v6 open queue is a permanent mode now and they added map voting to QP and Comp and added Hero bans to comp. I dropped rivals for it because I was sick of rivals healer design and their balancing forcing me onto Mag basically every game because he was the best tank in the game for 3 seasons in a row. Made my Sigma better though so that's nice I guess

nta but OW totally does have easier movement outside of like, ball and even that's less about execution and more about map knowledge. There's no execution for stuff like B-hops or rocket jumps, just hit the button and it goes. this however, does make aim skill more important because there's a LOT more projectile attacks in OW than in TF2, so couple that with the ease of movement means you need to be pretty on with your shots to kill the more nimble heroes like Tracer.

Marvel Rivals unironically made me go back to and appreciate OW again. It's by all means not perfect, but actually in a pretty decent spot nowadays and Stadium has been quite enjoyable too.

I just wish stadium was 6v6. a 5v5 format with no character swaps makes tanking in that mode a nightmare if you get counterpicked. 6v6 would at least alleviate some of the pressure of the solo tank experience

it cant be fixed in the way that people assume going back to 6v6 will do. the best thing it can do is become something different, and adding perks as a way to give players more ways to experience their characters was a good step. if the leaks are true about them adding second ultimate's in some form are true then i think that may be a good idea but with how they struggle to balance existing ults who knows. every game that has tried to be overwatch 1 has either failed or run into the same problems that forced unpopular changes (marvel rivals), so it makes no sense for them to keep chasing the "when overwatch was fun" train with overwatch 2 when the truth is that there is no definitive "when overwatch was fun" as the overwatch classic modes have shown people

I dunno 6v6 totally fixed alot of my problems with playing tank in the game, and that's the constant swapping counterswapping nonsense that went on in 5v5. it still happens to a lesser degree but you aren't going to win one round in comp and have the entire team swap to counter just you, forcing you to swap because they can target the tank you're playing with their entire team, as there is now another tank backing you up splitting the focus.

Also NTA, but TF2 movement is nowhere near as simple as "shooting your feet and hoping for the best". In addition to the already complex source movement you share between all classes there's others like soldier and demo who have their own movement techs exclusive to them.

Name one movement skill that isn't pressing a button on cd you mongoloid. TF2 has surfing, rocket/flare/sentry/pill/donk/medibeam jumping, trimping, strafe jumping, pogo, and more. Faster movement, smaller hitboxes, ammo management, no ults.
The game is so bad they had to impose class limits because the comp scene was just tracer/lucio/monkey point contesting that no one enjoyed watching. The porn was the only thing that drew players to it, Blizzard's gameplay model of "take game with high skill ceiling and dumb it down & then market the shit out of it" was the only thing that gave it any success and the comp scene had to be pumped full of money by the devs to garner any interest.

easy execution is still execution. whereas movement in OW is "press 1 button" which requires 0 execution whatsoever. but that lack of execution for movement is what makes aiming and hitting mobile things harder on a baseline because being elusive or mobile with a character built around mobility is relatively simple.
