Yeah a lot of typhon damage is avoidable but a lot of phases have a few segments where it's like "haha get hit loser" and you basically just have to push your dps rotation as far as it can before that segment. It's not that the moves are impossible to dodge but Mel's kit really sucks at repositioning and you might run into segments where the only safe space is the opposite corner of the room. Regardless though he's fairly easy assuming you don't lose a few defiances to prometheus or the wardens

I started playing this a few days ago, my thoughts are that the game is fine, but the enemy variety/character in particular feels really lacking compared to Hades 1, there are even repeating enemies between the first and second and even third areas which I don't recall being a thing in the first game aside from maybe the little witch enemy that shoots purple balls, in addition to repeating it feels like alot of the enemies lack character until the third area, they are just variations of mummy

I think as soon as you have all 3 base aspect of a given weapon type and have one of them fully upgraded. Also Torch can't be the first hidden aspect.
Also also if you really want one you should be careful with progressing story elements because they often take priority over the waking phrases. Like if you want medeas hidden aspect but you keep progressing the vow of rival for example she will most likely keep talking about that for a while.

Yep Melinoe is very straight laced, and they don't lean on it at all to make it interesting. She gets no narrative relating to her mentality, and Zagreus has to solve the problem her character development could have solved. Zagreus would make a far better main character for this story.
You can even do it like this
>Zag finds still recovering Chronos on his own
>Chronos is powerless to truly stop him if he wants to kill him again, but he traps him in a temporal bubble that sends him to a possible future
>possible futures are different, from conflict between olympians to Typhon and other titans awakening
>each time Zag manages to escape the bubble, we get a piece of interactions between Zag and Chronos who then proceeds to turn the time back in order to save his hide

She just needs a character arc. The disappointing bit is that all the pieces are there.
>Death to Chronos! She actually goes through with dissolving time and rescuing her family, but is trapped in a timeless nightmare.
>"This isn't what I wanted. There has to be another way."
>Sends back a vision to her past self somehow telling her not to kill Chronos
>Doubt and despair, this is the low point of the character arc.
>Talks with NPCs, realizes that Gods are huge jerks who enact revenge for petty reason (Dora, Arachne, Narcissus, Heracles, Prometheus).
>Talks to Nemesis, the embodiment of (fair and just) revenge

Yeah, pretty much. I like the gameplay loop enough to forgive a lot of personally distasteful things but "there's too much dicksucking and mutual flattery" really sums up why I think the writing has suffered a downgrade in between games. In Hades 1 the threat of the Olympians losing their shit was something everyone acknowledged as a real possibility that had to be handled delicately.

In Hades 2 you just drop off a freshly redeemed Chronos at Olympus after he led a damn WAR besieging it and Zeus is just OK with it because reasons.

I just started grandpa's social link, hopefully there are some details about his actual plan, and what precisely went down in this mythology between titans and gods. But all of that should have been front and center before the credits. The first game is palace intrigue, a conspiracy to unravel, the second one's been essentially "an ancient evil awakens".
They tease Melon getting freakishly strong, stoking fear, and wielding powers of deleting conceptual beings out of existence in response to Chronos, but haven't went anywhere yet. Would be weird to go into the villain arc now that I'm developing all these relationships. They tease the complication of a world without Time, but never stumble over it in the story. Feels like more interesting drafts got sanded down somewhere along the way.

You stack Scorch damage onto an enemy that burns them at a set rate, 100 damage per second by default. It stacks on the enemy up to a cap of 999, so if you reached that cap and stopped hitting them they would take ~1000 damage over the next 10 seconds.
Different boons interact with this, doing things like increasing the rate damage is applied (eg. if you get +150% to the rate it will apply 250 damage/second, which makes it way more effective if you have a fast weapon that can stack Scorch faster than it burns off at the default rate) or a condition for triggering the stored damage all at once (Demeter and Hestia's duo boon).

I am very sorry. Grandpa is much more concerned about his new job and mending bridges than whatever his plan was. Hell he doesn't even seem to be commanding the satyrs anymore since Melinoe BTFOing everyone on the way to fighting his vestiges/Typhon's vestiges is part of the canon event they need to maintain

The main hint is that apparently the idea of mortals being free of divine interference, the ending of the game, is at least somewhat similar to what he was going to bring about by his own admission. So yeah, it turns out that grandpa actually had a point all along despite acting like the biggest moustache-twiddling villain ever, and Meli and the Olympians were in fact wrong to question if the Golden Age was merely propagandised to look better than it was, kek.

This game really does suffer from being played from the viewpoint of a zealot child soldier with an active aversion to questioning authority.

Why did they make getting nectar so fucking grindy? In general the design makes you go through encounters to pass time but i'm in the post game and I'm having to go all the way to the late game areas to advance a questline and I still have at most 3 nectars so between nights I have to remember to buy the 1 nectar in the store and do at most 2 or 3 offerings.

I thought that when you get the nectar recipe from Aphrodite it would be the game finally letting me stockpile it but it requires stardust for some fucking reason

This franchise could've been so much better, stoic masculine gods and hyper feminine goddesses with Mediterranean instruments accompanying distorted guitars that rely on the Phrygian mode to make what we love in Hades music: Greek folk metal. But that faggot Darren Knob decided to shove the "wee woo" spooky instrument in there that you use for alien invasions or scooby doo episodes, ruining the entire thing. Then they make bara greek gods rather than imposing dominant rulers of their own elements. Even Hades himself showed up unprompted on rule34 sucking a cock, it's a homo ass game made by commie faggots played by even bigger fruits for putting up with it and licking up their plate full of shit clean.

The weirdest thing is the framework, the potential to actually acknowledge those issues is THERE. It really feels like they CONSIDERED going down that route and then cowarded out right before release. Hera is a major cunt on a regular basis. Arachne and Echo were both done dirty. Hecate by her own admission did Meli dirty by training her as a child soldier. There were many, many opportunities for Meli to stick it to the man by finally fucking picking a side and standing by her principles.

Except she didn't. She handles every conflict almost stereotypically like a woman: By just staying in the background, all but begging everyone to be friends, being a doormat for everyone's immediate needs without dwelling further on why those needs were present, and hoping things just kind of work out. Shit this even applies to the actual ending of the game: Meli is pissed at Zagreus for not letting her take a swing at Chronos, but is such a pushover that the game just cuts to her and Zag hanging out together while the house is rebuilt and in subsequent infernal contract battles it's barely even acknowledged.

It genuinely does feel like the game is trying to consistently portray Meli as a total doormat in everything except doing her job and relationship shit (sometimes)/

>"Crossroads"
It's basically limbo, it's the tippy top of the underworld and where all the lost souls end up. So, hard to find.
>why they worship the moon
The moon (Selene) gibs them powerups because the Fates said so. The entire Silver Sisters thing (apart from being basically a superhero team) basically boils down to a friendship-based black ops unit with no oversight. Or well, they would say they are each others' oversight.

Still can't believe the big plan that was in the works for decades (or who knows how long if we add Hekate) was just...lets wing it? To kill Chronos you need a spear from the past, which no one knew about until Mel asked Zag "hey you have anything of use lying around?" and then needed to kill giant monster which no one knew about until Mel saw it on the mountain.
Maybe if they foreshadowed it with Hek but it really felt like "its all gonna work out just fine don't worry about it".

It's particularly weird because this is the polar opposite of the Hades 1 ending. Zagreus learned that Hades had reasons for doing what he did, and that his relatives could be disproportionate assholes. And reacted accordingly.

Meli's entire character seems to be that she's determined to live life with tunnel vision. She snaps at Icarus trying to ask what she's going to do next. Hecate, her previous self, is in this entire situation because she sacrificed everything to try to kill Chronos and ended up stuck as a Bastion reference. Meli is so averse to being proactive that ZAGREUS is the one who unlocks the golden ending.

If the game highlighted it just a little more, I'd think that was supposed to be Meli's core character flaw. But she never really acknowledges it as a flaw. She just flies off on the moon chariot with her frens like they're the Avengers.

With the minus magick on boon rarity everything that uses a lot magick gets obviously worse. You can't even use the hel special if you don't constantly reup on some magick and take some early.
Ward makes everything slow and non multihit a little worse.
Dealing with armor is usually a non-issue but if you juice the amount of enemies, their speed and health weapon that deal well with armored enemies are better.

How are you supposed to feel good about these games when everything's just luck and the goal of the game is to make everything as easy as possible? And the same goes for every ARPG.

>night bloom revives Chronos' healing adds
if you're ever having trouble with the rivals fight, just use that. Given how massive the arena is, you practically can't lose

>The resurrection hex is pretty good too but can't compete
It definitely can with the right upgrades. That hex has carried me more than anything else in this game. Get the one where resurrected enemies never disappear and that by itself is already huge.

I've only gotten to chronos 3 times so far, but how am I supposed to beat him exactly? His health bar is massive and both he and his attacks just blend with the background and are hard to see.

He leaves openings after most of his combos, especially his wind blast, so hit and run him.
The main danger is trying to trade with him because of how quick the combos are.

Against Hades I used to dodge everything he did close to his body and get some hits in any time.
I feel like this doesn't work well against Chronos.
It's easier to just kite him around and wait for the obvious openings and prefebly taking something that deals some chip damage on range even if it just a hex.

WOWIE 30% that's like like a whole 10dmg per second for the low of cost of running into the enemy and missing your special which probably does like 300dmg per second.

Yea, this bonus is just ? And ironically all you do on Supay is spam attack and special (charged versions) because they don't last that long and don't deal that much damage unelss you charge.
Rush boons also...uh, whats the point really? None of them feel good except for Hera, which can clear rooms easzy which is funny.

That's the thing. I'm 35 yet I swear I never heard it before Silksong and Hades 2. Might be the kinds of games I played, but bosses always had summons, mooks, minions... not adds.
