I disagree.
Normal hobbies usually cost under $1000. Knitting, bird watching, hiking, phone gaming, brainrot.
Expensive hobbies usually under $10000. Wood working, metal working, gaming, basic motorcycle riding, fixing up a shitty car, photography.
If you have over $10000 to spend on hobbies it's a luxury hobby.
Fancy cars that server no street purpose, racing motorcycles, boats, planes, etc.
I've probably spent more than $10000 on gaming in the last 30 years, but not in the last 10 years, so I still consider it to be expensive.
