Actual scam instead "I don't like it" I can think of would be something like Aliens: Colonial marines where Gearbox funneled the funding SEGA was giving for the game towards Borderlands, knowingly releasing a broken product for extra revenue then weaseling their way out a lawsuit to let SEGA take all the heat for their shitty game.
