No ng forces you to ut spam even if the option is tempting. This game has even more options than RE. I'll see how it plays but it doesn't look like there's anything railroading you into spamming. Especially since being airborne now gets you killed and air combos get blocked so izuna is even riskier

Mixed feelings. Design looks pretty fucking goofy, goes hard into Spirited Away yokai shit. That's not what I wanted from NG, especially NGB being more about down to earth badass ninja (up to a point). On the other hand combat looks responsive and impactful, which I guess is much more important than esthetic choices. If you equip the dragon sword and go stand below the ledge where the bow fags are standing, then wall run up and at the very apex jump off, shuriken and then heavy attack, the heavy attack will lock on to the bow fag and push you onto the ledge effectively skipping that entire section and now you can beat the bow fags in melee and not care about the platforming.
I'm not sure if you have to shuriken or not. One of the ledges is higher up compared to the other one, but it's still possible to do this trick, skipping both the platforming sections

Platinum have never actually been great at making boss fights. They make great spectacles and scenarios, but the fights themselves range from mediocre to terrible. People love bosses like Jetstream Sam, Monsoon, Sundowner because the characters are cool but they really aren't interesting from a gameplay perspective. Especially since the UT is a big pretty much instakill lunging attack that feels like it'd fit more in a Shinobi game where they have the bigger, more vertical arenas and low-HP enemies. If you liked DMCV you'll like NG series, period. Both series are the top dogs of the action genre. NG4 seems to be very inclusive with it's difficult options the best thing would be playing the older games to get a feel of it or you might find them strange later. I did enjoy DMC5 and my biggest issue with it was needing to play in a way that got the most grade because my brain only works in doing what intuitively makes sense and using the right tool for the job and generally play in a way that I'm simply acting and reacting on pure instinct. I disagree with that. Doing those flashy YouTube combos in DMC4/5 isn't as optimal as using the most optimal, max damage set-ups. In DMC4, you're better off comboing into DRI, which is very easy to do, instead of wasting time learning useless crap like Guard Flying. In DMC5, Faust breaks the game since it buffs Dante's damage output to ridiculous levels. It is the most powerful Devil Arm in the series by far. Nero in general is pretty unga bunga, and DMC5 makes him easier than ever since he can enemy step his way to the top of the stage, snipe enemies from the ground and pick them off one by one. As for larger enemies, just spam charged breaker attacks. Those combo videos are pretty cool, but if you only care about beating DMD and getting the highest score then you really don't want to play like you're making a COMBO MAD video.

That doesn't mean they don't interact. The whole reason Vergil even comes back is because Nero actually bothers to help V get to Urizen before Dante finishes him off. Nero's motivation throughout most of the game is to get back at Urizen for taking his arm and the Yamato, which again, is the whole reason why Vergil could split V out of himself.

If you want character interactions, there's a bunch of them between Nero and V and Urizen. Yes, he doesn't know they're Vergil but that's the whole point of the finale: Nero gets to finally somewhat mend the broken family Dante and Vergil are part of; of course the solution of the conflict is the game's resolution. The development is Vergil's character study that happens throughout the rest of the game and which leads to things like Dante not wanting Nero to be involved, to the point he doesn't tell him they're related (which also shows Dante's self-destructive tendencies as it also leaves him without a family).

Arguing Nero isn't the protagonist in DMC5 is complete nonsense. The plot can't happen without Nero at all.

That's unironically what makes it good. You can see him improve and trying new things and understand the thought process. Flying enemies in high skill gameplay just die first without doing anything, with Yusef here you see how annoying they can be until you figure out how to take them out. At first he was just using the grappling hooks into wall swallow to take them out, then they spawned in areas with no grappling points and became annoying again, so he just spent a minute trying out different launcher moves to see one that put him at their height to easily take them down.
Ninja Gaiden will never hold a candle to DMC if you're just comparing MC vs sandbag in both titles, it's all about why you're pressing the buttons you're pressing, and you don't get that by just watching rehearsed MN gameplay.
