What does the future of graphic cards look like?
I'm happy with my 2080 Super since I built my PC back in 2019, served me well, some of the newer games struggle but otherwise I'm very happy with what I got.
With that said, when the fuck is the market going to balance out? Or is this a some kind of monopoly by these companies over pricing their cards?
I really would like to game on 4K eventually, and 4K monitors have gone down in price by a large margin, yet somehow graphic cards are fucking crazy pricey at the moment.

I've tried FSR4 INT8 on my GPU @1440p and is way better than FSR3.1.
There is still some ghosting and you have to use optiscaler to make it work but compared to previous FSR versions it's usable.
FSR3.1 Quality is unusable at 1440p too many artifacts.

The performance gain is not great, for low end cards it might not be even worth it.
Apparently it's not using build in RDNA3 WMMA instructions at all so there is still some room for improvement.
Quality is also not the same if you compare it to the FP8 version.

If you are using W10 you will have to edit OptiScaler.ini, find FsrAgilitySDKUpgrade and set it to true. Otherwise many games will simply crash. Simply dropping .dll to swap FSR3.1 rarely works.

Yes. This is the end result of what Intel started but - these days - AMD has taken up the mantle on. The whole point of integrated graphics was to push gpu makers (with nvidia being the only one left standing these days) out of the oem market. I don't think the 16GB of VRAM is going to be worth it in the long run for games, for AI it probably will be. I recently got a 5070 for $450. It's still $100 more but it's 25% extra performance, even now the 9060 XT is just barely getting above 60fps in a lot of AAA slop. So having that extra head room is going to be nicer than the extra vram. Just like when the 8GB RX 480 ended up being slower than the 6GB GTX 1060, I loved the 480 but quickly sold it during the crypto mining craze to jump up to a 1070 Ti.

I'd rather be clearing 60fps with textures on high than dipping below 60fps with ultra textures. I wish nvidia wasn't as jewish as they are and could match the amount of vram, but I still think the nvidia cards are a better value for games. Even on my 4090 PC, I'm rarely seeing games go above 12GB of vram usage and that's usually games with raytracing, which I wouldn't really opt for any high raytracing settings on these low-mid tier cards to begin with.

I was stuck with TNT2 until I got R9600SE the worst card I ever owned because I was a retard instead of the GOAT pic related.
When I switched from 1080p 60Hz to 1440p 144Hz it was huge upgrade.
Even shitposting is more enjoyable with better screen.
Don't forget to set it up properly, nV cards often default to 60Hz.
But without upgrade you won't get much from it in newer games.
Another downside is you will notice stutters a lot more at high FPS.

Has anyone actually tried Intel's cards? I'm honestly mobidly curious and kind of want to buy one. I don't really care about anything above 1080p anyway.

I upgraded to 7800X3D from 5600 recently and for the most part there is no difference because I was GPU limited with 7900XT anyway.
But there are certain games where the performance doubled, mostly autism-sims.
So if you play games like Path of Exile, RimWorld, Stellaris etc. you will like it.
UE5 garbage still stutters so don't expect to avoid that.
I doubt 7800X3D will drop further in price but you can wait for the fake sales.
As for GPU it's unlikely UDNA will release next year, so either get 5070Ti or 9070XT depending which you can buy for less.

Yeah I switched to loonix and my 5700 XT have gotten a tad bit better in terms of performance and crashes than when it was on so I'm leaning towards AMD, plus it's cheaper.

Also got a 4K TV recently so being able to put that to good use sounds enticing too, apparently the 9070 XT + 7800X3D combo is decent enough (with FSR4) to handle that.
