>Sakurai
Most consistent. Closest thing he's made to a bad game is Sm4sh WiiU and that's more dull than anything.
>Toby
Never played UT/DR but his career is proof that anybody can make it. His code is infamously awful and he got his start ROMhacking and yet here he is. I like some of his music a lot; it gets overhyped by his fans but he can write a damn good melodic hook.
>Taro
Pure idea guy but in a way that's genuinely unique compared to most that just think they're unique. That's the only reason people could play games that play/run like Drakengard 1 and Nier Gestalt and be enamored with them.
>Kamiya
Idiosyncratic and stubborn, in both good and bad ways. DMC1 and Bayonetta both changed the landscape of action game design but have insane choices in them only he would make. W101 is either the greatest game of all time or a hodgepodge mess depending on how you look at it because it's a culmination of his entire career.
>Toyama
Deserves to have the notoriety of Sakurai/Toby/Kamiya if only for Silent Hill, but Gravity Rush, Siren, and Slitterhead are all very cool games.
>Kodaka & Ishii
Genuinely not much of a VN guy so I can't say much but people really seem to like the stuff listed here (and Hundred Line is an SRPG so I might try it one day).
