Yes but they are pretty hidden so unless you look up a guide you will probably miss some and even if you find all of them, you won't be able to unlock all the slots on a crest right after getting it if you don't save some lockets.

Honestly I think the heal differences are the main reason that makes me stick to hunter/wanderer/reaper/architect.
Like I want to try beast and such but I can't deal with these garbage heals.
Witch seems like a detriment on anything other than some bossfight. For exploration and platforming you're not healing shit, and if you try to nuke a mob with the heal and get hit by a cheeky projectile or spastic contact damage you're done.
Beast seems like you need to heal preemptively and play aggressive. Combined with the vastly different moveset makes it a completely different playstyle to all the other crests. Could be fun but it's not something you swtich on the fly, you need to master it.
And for shaman the heal is just bad. There's nothing more to say, it's just bad. Your're a zoner that can't heal basically so your build is pretty good to spam those charged attacks though I would switch the parry for pale nails. Why risk parrying? just stay away. Also spear for dart, for repositioning when cornered.

I beat Hollow Knight twice back in the day. After my first true ending run, I went back to Hollow Knight for a third 100% playthrough. Then I went back to Silksong for a second playthrough.

If I could have Silksong's gameplay with everything else being Hollow Knight it would be a perfect 10/10 game. I've been using Reaper for most of the game. I think the longer reach spoiled me, because I'll occasionally pop on Hunter and end up making a ton of sloppy mistakes.
I got Architect last night and don't understand why everyone fellates it so hard, the melee moveset is abysmal. The tool regen gimmick sounds fun but I basically never use tools so it might just not be for me.

There's a rosary braid machine at the start of Greymore by the entrance when you reach the new area after getting a new floaty cloak. From there you can run straight into an area with a bunch of rosary dropping enemies and then run 3 seconds through 1 more area to the Halfway Home inn to rest and repeat the process. I did that for an hour and spent up to Act 2 with a full deck of Rosary braids (20 x 60). Reaper is the only crest without a real offensive upside aside from base hunter, and since it has slower attack speed you're going to be doing significantly less damage unless you actually make really good use of your silk gain on more silk skills rather than just stocking more for healing. There's nothing wrong with using any crest, but lacking both speed and damage forces you to play slow, and trying to take the gameplay too slow and methodical is the main reason I see people struggle with the difficulty.
It's mostly just a trap because people uncomfortable with spacing their attacks gravitate to it for the range, and the lower damage makes those players suffer way harder, especially in arena fights which are very common

Godhome content has only like two references in Silksong (though they are pretty major), so for the most part you could pretty safely skip to straight to it after the vanilla Hollow Knight's original true ending. Playing Godhome does prepare you for the bullshit Silksong hits you with, though there's nothing as insane as Pantheon of Hallownest (at least until the madlad Aussies give us similar DLC).

Problem with the original HK is that for the most part the game is pretty easy and chill and possibly a bit too mild for many people during early mid-game, then it suddenly hits you with massive difficulty spikes like Trial of Fool, Path of Pain or Pantheons. Silksong in comparison starts out more challenging from the word go and gradually ramps up the difficulty as you go along, though so far (before future DLC) it doesn't get as bullshit as the original game's final boss rush mode.

The biggest thing that fucked me with LL was the random repositioning (contact damage) and parry. Otherwise it's not too hard.
