There's validity to selectively breeding dogs for specific features, we just did it horribly by 1) breeding for appearance and not stopping once the health issues became clear, and 2) inbreeding to increase supply and creating genetic conditions that didn't need to exist
That said foxes are not going to be work animals so there's less reason to do the healthy kind of selective breeding in the first place

Shooters? Back when I started playing it was just weapon 1 shoot with special value (deals more damage and low range, deals high damage but its better to use at long range, etc), with one or two sideweapons. Now we have shit like Natural Selection that sometimes don't even need to shoot, TF2 where there are classes with all weird behaviors, Overwatch/Rivals with super powers, even Valorant have those weird skills.
