Why does this only have a peak of 4.8k players on Steam (~19k if you count the Asian version), while a gacha game like Honkai Star Rail is actively played by tens of millions of people every single day?
No matter how you look at it, HSR is just a lower quality, dumbed down and gachafied Trails game.
Why do the masses behave like this? I'm trying to understand, genuinely.
Anonymous No.723003698 [Report]
Because it doesn't have dailies or anything that would keep people playing it every day.
Also gachatards don't play real vidya.

Why would you expect a single player game with worse graphics than the average modern gatcha game to have hundreds of thousands of players.
I'm not saying its bad, in fact I liked it.
But but it suffers from a lot of the same issues many modern JRPGs have, where it feels like a game that hasn't evolved past the PS2-3 era.
The stiff player models that feel like 2D game developers just started working on 3D etc.

Niche, full price, no regional pricing, barely any marketing, people's shit taste.

One has infinite marketing money, is free to play, is on phone and has a gacha system (which is unfortunately popular rn despite being objectively one of the worst monetizations ever).
Their core appeal isn't even very different but those factors make all the difference in popularity with normalfags.
Anonymous No.723004438 [Report] >>723005979
Better question: how did this peak at 5k when Digimon peaked at 80k when both are niche, long running RPGs?

I am very annoyed that no one is willing to pay anything for phone games and we are stuck in this perpetual cycle of new gatcha shit releasing every few months.
Maybe one day Valve will get off their asses and make a full steam client on mobile with proton on arm.
I tried the tech a bit on an app called gamehub and seems cool (Half life 2 worked).

(should add, i don't recommend you use this app in general because it's made by the chinese developers who make gamesir controllers, I heard people have been able to play games like hades on their phones with added controllers.)

I mean, HSR is completely free while Trails costs 60Euro (70dollar American). They try HSR, they find out that it's fun in the beginning and then becomes garbage that is only worth it because it's literally free.
So obviously they won't touch an expensive game as they expect it will do the same thing, but cost a fuckton of money unlike HSR.

Look man, this game is already in the running to be GOTY along with Final Fantasy Tactics, Mario Galaxy and Metal Gear Solid 3. This is HUGE blockbuster year for games. So many brand new (it's new if it costs money, right?) games coming out. So I don't understand why you're freaking out. There's at least two (2) threads on the catalog for this game and has been for the past month. What more do you want?

Digimon has a lot more more nostalgia and branding power behind it. While not as big as say Pokemon at the time, Digimon was still a pretty well known global force with Saturday morning cartoons, trading cards and other merchandise.

It's still Falcom's most successful game on steam. Previously, it was Cold Steel IV with a peak of 2.7k players.
1st chapter almost doubled that. And when they remake the sequel, that will surely be even higher.

Survive was pretty cool, and I guess many became increasingly aware of the fact that there somehow hasn't been a Digimon game in years because of that. But anime projects and the like had a strong push behind them, and from most of Bamco's recent releases besides Nightreign, they seemed to have given a shit about Time Stranger too. Also, lots of good things to say about Cyber Sleuth.
>>723006773
2nd Chapter is a sequel, so I doubt that, but it might get a push from the new fans or better prioritisation with the interest that the 1st generated. There's a good bit of fight scenes and hype moments in SC, so I guess that'll grab some flavour of retard's attention. Hopefully the time-frame isn't too bad.

Marketing works on normies, I ignore ads like the plague but my relatives see things as better if they have a brand they saw on TV, marketing should be fucking destroyed.

However, not being mainstream is a good thing. You don't want the modern audience in your fandom. Pic related.

There's a trailer at the end of this one so almost certainly next year. The work is already 95% done in terms of assets and shit, it's just a matter of putting the game together with the pieces they have.
