What went wrong with Remedy's FBC: firebreak?
It most likely isnt a big deal it didnt do as well as they wanted. It was an asset flip that used stuff from a previous game. I would bet that the purpose of it was primarily to train up a new dev team.

>As a result of FBC: Firebreak's "weak sales," Remedy will eat a non-cash impairment of €14.9 million—essentially, most of what it cost to develop and distribute the game.
They're cutting their losses it seems, game was cheap to make but not that cheap since they are a small developer.

they promised too big and built anticipation for the late september update for 2 fucking month and they deliver yet another buggy, content lacking shit no one of the small fanbase asked for.
shame really, the atmosphere is pure remedy gold, but product design lead should be trained more before his next project i guess.

the picture tells you exactly what's wrong
>design a game by metrics and to potimize revenue instead of being fun
>drop the game because sales metric was not immediately reached

They introduced a patch and thought it would be a good idea to make the time to kill a common mook with anything other than a shotgun three and a half seconds. It can take 15 rounds from a SMG to the head to kill the equivalent of one infected from L4D.

First impressions are very important for live service games. Market is flooded and if you fuck up at launch, people move on quick.

It is. Even though the Control setting is very cool, the actual gameplay its just like any other co op horde shooter.
