yes, a children's game is easy. however, there are far more actually threatening combat situations in totk than oot, on top of combat actually FEELING good and having a variety of impactful options/approaches.

this is a good phrase, it encapsulates the crux of the issue. everyone who was enraptured primarily by OoT just wants more OoT clones, and each one they got they take fault in for one reason or another. MM is either paired up, worse than, or better than OoT to them, followed by WW not measuring up, TP not succeeding it, SS excluded from the running too. they have had their fill of that formula, and the franchise just needs to recalibrate and shake off lock and key dungeon stuff in favor of being an adventure game.

Open world games are boring if they aren't filled with content.

The lack of real fucking dungeons 2 games in a row killed the nu-Zelda for me. There is no content in the game. It's a walking simulator with gliding. The combat is shit. They went the Bethesda half ass route of just giving enemies more hitpoints.

there is nothing adventurous about the current dungeon giving you 5 waypoints clearly defining your objectives in the area. They dont make oot style dungeons anymore because they dont have the talent for it anymore

in oot sword combat is exactly the same but you have the option of doing vertical/horizontal/stab
