With a lot of remasters it's really weird how much effort they think they need to put into it to justify a certain price. I just want old games to be able to run on modern system and like maybe update the graphics a little or improve some things that didn't work quite right in the original one and sell it for $10 or something. A half assed attempt to "update" the graphics to supposed modern standards and selling it for $30 might as well not even bother.

Why pay for a remaster if it's not even supposed to look better than the original? The original is not really difficult to get working on current PCs and there's nothing wrong with the controls.

They should have just used the PS2 models as-is, put in the bug fixed maps, and asked $5 instead of $30 for it.
