Holy fucking shit when was this DX remaster announced?
I feel like it will suck, and also suck out all the atmosphere from the original but i'm still hyped.

Also, the recommended requirements
> CPU: Intel Core i7 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800
> RAM: 16 GB
>GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2080 / Radeon RX 6750
I love jeet remake optimisation!

Idk why companies even bother with remakes if it isn't to the standard of the past with the graphics of the present. Obviously the industry is very cynical about it's fans, and so are fine making compromises for profit like a shady car dealer/mechanic.
The Oblivion one was the only remake i've seen actually have some passion and detail put into it. Ironically the bigger companies with the resources are the ones NOT willing to go the extra mile, despite not even having to come up with original ideas. shits fucked.

It just looks like one of those overhaul mods that's already been made.
It will probably be like the oblivion remake where it's pretty good, but it reminds people how cool the original was.
I got into the original as a post 2020 zoomer meme bandwagoner and i always think the game carries this aura like no other. Maybe just some 'nostalgia' thing, like what i was into 5 years ago, i don't know. Every fairly successful franchise (and even the ones that got left behind) back then was ahead of its time and punching above its weight in terms of graphics and shit and it's tragic how far the industry has fallen. Now remakes and copy cutter sequels are almost equal headliners to new releases. I guess this year has been a bit better though. A quarter of a century man, the fuck happened

Deus ex graphics were trash on release but the game is so good that nobody cared.

The minimum requirements for the original Deus Ex (2000) are a 300 MHz Pentium II processor, 64 MB of RAM, Windows 95/98, and a DirectX 7.0a-compliant 3D accelerated video card with 16 MB of VRAM

fucking how did you manage to push them up THAT much there were doom mods from 2007 that looked better ((not good just better)) that ran on literal integrated graphics what the fuck is going on?

Yeh true, lots of older games have benefited from obscuring shitty graphics with fog/darkness.

>take texture
>give it to AI
>AI shits it out at twice the resolution and 15x the size
>grab the first result
>don't know how to optimize it so you just include the raw thing
they don't know how to optimize code either so they 100% just copy some shit over and every feature ends up having its own external library.

TLDR: this >>723021593

easily by giving game too many demanding and brand new effects that you had in ue5
Anonymous No.723025414

Just adding much higher textures wouldn't decrease performance unless you had not enough of vram. It's the multiple effects that they added are at fault, now nobody is making lights by hand everything has to be automated. They have lumen and nanite with raytracing which make game run 5x slower.

Now game looks like Riddick game but without tricks to make dynamic lights and shadows run well on old hardware.
