Danganronpa's easily the most verbose and poorly paced VN series I've played. Each game takes 30 hours more than it needs to.
The series as a whole is absolute dogshit, though. Danganronpa 1 in particular feels like a proof of concept compared to its sequels.

Most of the console shares goes to Switch, think about it. People don't generally like Sony these days there. It was cool during PS2-3 and Vita era. PC gaming growing in Japan is good and that's how we'll get kino games in the future. Older you are more likely you are going to become a PC gamer, there's that trend as well. You already have one at work so its not a huge leap to get one for home gaming or eroge content which is a huge market in Japan.
