The issue is that Fortnite has no actual, genuine artists working for them. Everything you see is done under strict deadlines or with Epic breathing down their necks to make sure they don't make something too attractive. None of the actual hired artists take artistic liberties to actually improve designs, they only ever make them worse. An actual artist would have looked at the ugly werewolf girl design and retooled her to appeal to the demographic that would willingly buy her. But the jeets they hire just follow the concept art to a T, instead of taking it as a proof of concept. These people see their jobs as a 9 to 5, clock in and clock out, and don't think about it past that.

I don't care how many hot furry girls they add. I'm NOT playing Fortnite.
