Alright so like years and years ago a while after deltarune came out some dude cryptically asserted that Ralsei was based off this one dead kid who was a fan of undertale, and there were a bunch of particular details about it:
Deltarune (Survey Program Demo) specifically came out on his birthday Halloween, he had a pink and green goat OC and a personality basically identical to Ralsei, this OC was friends with a Kris a knight and a dragon, he likes cave story apparently 8ch and tumblr were the only places to know about this guy and he had (tried to) commit suicide some before Deltarune came out and it was basically impossible to search up anything about him because all of his stuff was taken down.
Well as it turns out, despite this rumor floating around for 8 years, if you punched in a search for some of the REALLY specific details about him, people found remnants of a person that matches this description to a frankly disturbing degree except, he wasn't dead. Not on tumblr anymore, he's apparently been off that website for YEARS, but he did have friends that had old mostly abandoned blogs that still that had proof he existed. There was a failed attempt to contact them by a poster here pretty catastrophically, but, with the names of one of his friends people were able to find his personal steam account since they're friends there.
To anyone's knowledge nobody's actually gone and actually talked with him on steam and asked him about ANY of this really strange 8 year long mess or if he knows literally anything.
Oh, and I don't have it, but someone did find some fan art with an id of it of a second Mimiga character he apparently had, but nobody knows if he made it, why it has an ID or any real information about it.
And I think that's pretty much it, you can find some more information by checking a 4chan archive, the thread people found him was a couple weeks ago.

Yes and no, that's the weird thing about the chapter release system:
on one hand the game is clearly built around the episodic format, with mystery building, foreshadowing and cliffhangers,
on the other hand the game pretends to be a standalone release, especially on chapter 3, with the egg tutorial, snowgrave tutorial, and the chapter itself being a fun and games distraction.
I guess Toby feels the need to keep up the pretension of someone playing the game just by himself,

The Shadow Crystals weren't even in SURVEY_PROGRAM. Whether that was because it was too much intrigue to introduce in an otherwise largely self-contained experience, he didn't know what they should do or what they should represent, or he simply didn't think of them at the time, I'm not sure about. But any of the above are plausible, in similar manners to the Weird Route.

Toby has had the broad strokes of this game floating around in his head for a very long time, but he didn't really write everything down and outline the entire game until around 2020 while he was putting the development team together and starting work on Chapter 2.
It's impossible for us to say how much Undertale's influence changed Deltarune unless Toby clarifies it himself, but one thing we do know is that the whole ACT/SPARE system was carried over from Undertale because Toby thought people would expect it coming from Undertale. The whole "FIGHT vs SPARE" thing became the driving theme of Chapter 1 and is foundational to Susie and Ralsei's characters in ways that are still intensely relevant (eg. Ralsei implying at the end of Chapter 4 that his motivation for encouraging pacifism is hoping it would change the outcome of The Prophecy). I think this is a clear enough example to say that while Toby "came up with" Deltarune almost fifteen years ago, it was hardly fully formed and set in stone back in 2011.

Toby has talked about his inspiration for Detlarune was a dream, which did not show him the game but "the ending of a game." Deltarune was created to achieve that ending; the ending itself has been the point from the beginning. In Chapter 1, the idea that there was "only one ending" was repeatedly emphasized.
I believe that this the story moving away from this with the introduction of new elements like the Weird Route and the Shadow Crystals, and the narrative elements like Gerson being unable to finish the story and Gaster awaiting the completion of "MY DELTARUNE," is a genuine development and evolution from the original narrative, motivated by Toby reflecting on the work itself and what completing "MY DELTARUNE" now means for him.

Use of "schizo boss" fell off here a little due to Gerson

As far as I can tell, this was definitely a mistake that was caught by Chapter 2's release. Considering a fever dream inspired it, I'm willing to bet that the ending he had in mind doesn't actually make much sense, especially since it was before literally any other details about Deltarune were conceived. But it probably looked really cool, it must've been divine to push one man this far in trying to realize it. The surrounding dialog seems apprehensive on committing to that being the only way this game ends, though, or perhaps more accurately, this being the actual ending itself (in the sense that this sequence always happens, but the context leading up to it is different, and there's still more of the game to play and outcomes to influence afterwards).

In a standalone game, like Undertale, the secrets are basically up for the grabs,
but Deltarune is released episodically, so even if every supposed secret gets uncovered the minute the game is released,
its actual significance remains unknown.

So who the fuck is Eggman? It's obvious that out of all characters, him and Kris have the strongest past and connection.
Is he Gaster or Papyrus? FRIEND? Kris's actual dad or just some unrelated human man?
My personal theory, is that it's his father, what happened is Kris's dad killed his mother for whatever reasons (with a kitchen knife no less) Kris saw that, got traumatized which in result gave him violent tendencies thus the whole "where no one is murdering anyone" , also why he wanted to have a kitchen knife.
Egg rooms are also mysterious by nature, because they break the game, literally, Kris disappears into somewhere, and Susie and Ralsei don't say anything about it, the biggest evidence that it's all may unironically be dream, if just not real.
