This is the main issue with having a pre-written MC without dialogue choices. Silksong delights in killing the player on their first playthrough. This would be fine, except Hornet and other NPCs keep harping on about her skill, her bearing, her aspect, her fierceness, only for her to immediately get squashed by falling boulders, consumed by worms and frogs, impaled, jailed, burnt to the crisp, frozen, parried like a casual, or ground to mince by gigantic grinding blocks. I think Act 3 is thematically really uninteresting. Pharloom is already a dystopia when we arrive, it hardly becomes more interesting or contrasted when covered in black shit. I think you're underestimating the power of that song during that sequence. It matches the rhythm of the platforming and the thrill of the climb immensely. Endorphin-wise, it's the highest point of the game. I stand by the fact that it should've been reserved for the ending. After the escape Act 3 felt disappointing. IMO the Abyss escape sequence is more interesting and exciting that 95% of the bosses in this game, or any other.

Silksong gives you access to several crests that change you moveset and a lot of subweapons. It has plenty of reason to have a NG+ so people can replay the game with different crest and tool setups from the beginning
