man, look at that aesthetic. wish we could get that level of soul back. modern UI regardless of device are usually garbage and boring to look at

it can't happen because people have literally zero knowledge how to do design like that while making it scalable to different resolution, so minimalism metroslop with flat blocks took over. it's a byproduct of bad design knowledge.

There's a reason Frutiger Aero aesthetics picked up traction recently, everyone's developing nostalgia for early 2000's tech optimism and the overall "woah isn't this so cool and futuristic" vibe everything had. Especially since nowadays everything's very streamlined, clinical and minimalistic/brutalistic and most tech aesthetics are simply just grey boxes with slight curvature if they're feeling really spicy. Not to mention actual passion and creativity is slowly being lost in favour of an "efficiency-focused" mindset that, ironically, leads to a lot of inefficiency with things like UI design and optimization

ah yes the days back when you could just download music onto your console or i-pod and didnt need to be a part of some pre approved music selling website that cost money to download from and there was zero hassle getting around anti piracy measures to get it working.
