Supers don't need to be that long. Ever. Supers get used often enough that you'll get burnt out seeing it fast and it's disruptive of the actual gameplay. 15 seconds of combo chaining is different since you're actually playing the game and doing it. 15 seconds of spectacle is cool the first couple of times you see it then it's just wastes time.

I think some degree of having a moment where neither player is in control is fine, but Tekken in particular has super animations that are way too long. If you're going to have regular access to a super it should be like a 5 second animation, a more elaborate and longer one might be okay if specific conditions are required for it to be accessible, but a super that will see regular use should not be that long.
