the problem with long hours at work is that the longer the hours the more money they need to give you for it to be worth it, not just because you're working more hours, but also because of the loss of your free time, more work hours means less time to enjoy the money you are given, so for it to be worth it, you need to be given more money, if you are doing 12 hour days, youy need to be given a LOT more.
People have lives, families, friends, hobbies, they have their fucking health too, sleeping enough and getting exercise is neccesary for good health and some jobs have long enough hours that people may sacrifice those things too.
When a job consues your life to the point that it's 90% of what you think about and 80% of what you do the whole day... then you better be getting paid enough to get rich as fuck because otherwise it's not worth it, NOTHING more valuable in this world than the time we have while we are still alive, time has a lot of value, I feel people are not protective about their time, not nearly enough, it amazes me that in the fucking 21st century 40 hour weeks are still the norm and I'm not joking when I say that, it's retarded, we have more than enough resources and technological knowledge in the world to make life a little more easy going while still having cushy lives.
