I guess nobody cares? Is it because the plot of part 1 was complete nonsense?
Anonymous No.723069102 [Report]
if you make a sequel put a fucking number in the name or i'm going to assume it's an expansion like i did with the wii u

I had a lot of fun with it but unironically it was buried by Silksong lol
Hoping that the expansion is good because keycard dungeons suck ass and I’ve optimized the hell out of my arsenal
Anonymous No.723069210 [Report]
Price probably seems too high.

>Is it because the plot of part 1 was complete nonsense?
They clearly knew this since the plot in this is standalone and extremely straightforward but I don't know how much of a factor it may have been. I didn't really care that the plot of 1 was incomprehensible going into this.

I really enjoyed my time on the demo, is it worth picking up?
There's just so many games I have to grind through right now, it feels strange so many games popped up after a dull summer

>I really enjoyed my time on the demo, is it worth picking up?
I am playing (thank you fit girl) right now and after an hour I like it. I don't really get the hateboner people have for open world. I still find them good for mindless fun with a podcast in background. And then with that in mind I think it is the only open world mecha game that exists? I mean just because of this it is worth it.

I like it a lot. The plot is really retarded and it takes a few hours before you can make an Arsenal that doesn't control like molasses but te actual building and farming elements are great.

It's because I'm poor. I really, really wanted to buy the game.
But now I'll never, ever get the pre-order content unless I pirate the game. Kind of sucks.
But it also released at a very precarious time, close to Silksong and Hades2.

Honestly a like that a lot of JP developers are embracing an open world style, I think they usually still keep it structured enough. Some sessions I can enjoy as shorter ones where I just do a couple small tasks versus getting stuck in some big plot development quest and whatnot. Maybe pirating is the way to go though, thanks!

It's not that the studio is small, it's a director problem.
Tsukuda's an idiot who can't decide on what he wants the franchise to be and what a game should be about, TS is unfocused as all hell, riddled with shitty gimmicks like a really half baked card game that really has no right to be there or Halo style vehicles that control horrendously including a Cyber Torrent ripoff because of course we have to ripoff all the popular open world games rather than trying to make something with its own identity.
The game would have been MUCH better with a lot of pointless bloat cut out, the major issue outside of atrocious game balance and typical UE5 problem is that the game tries to do too many things at once without doing anything above a passable level, and that is also while it's recycling a lot of shit from the first game without meaningfully elaborating most of it or fixing what was wrong with it in the first game, it's a game where they just slapped a bunch of shit in without thinking about either the bigger whole or really, even the single aspects on their own.

Again, I still like it for what it is, I have a couple of hundred hours in it by now but it's a 7/10 at best and the pricing is absurd for what you're getting, it's AAA with absolutely predatory DLC practices for a game that is barely AA and poorly made AA at that.

I wonder what the expansion may be about, a fourth region maybe? Personally I care most about the final free update since it's going to have full Trinitas boss fights which the last leg of the story robbed us of.

It's either a fourth region or another procgenned dungeon for all we know, the latter is most likely knowing them.

The card game and vehicles are clearly not some huge development strain lol like you said they are kinda halfassed and pointless "rule of cool" bullshit. The core mechanics of building a mech and getting the pieces you need to optimize your memory/weight for your build are very good.

>90% of the equipment in the game is useless by design, Diablo style loot makes this even worse
>Entire classes of weapons like spears are just poorly designed as a concept and struggle to be relevant even in their supposed niche
>Balance is so awful even less people would play if Transmog wasn't a thing since everyone and their mother would be using ugly as sin Explorer/Primus/Weiss clownsuits
>Movement speed is busted to the point the game literally can't keep up with it and can't load fast enough so you'll noclip into nonloaded areas and the game will bug out and crash
>Enemies are beyond braindead, bosses have like five moves at best and any pallete swap that isn't Gunfort and Grausam is literally the same exact boss but with progressively bloated stats
Nah bro, outside of the visual designs nothing in this game is very good.

But everyone uses the pieces with high memory Pallas or whatever. Light mechs suck they can't hold shit. I kinda agree with you on movespeed though you can go a little faster than what the game can handle but crashing is a PC problem.
I've never seen a player use spears though that's true, they seem like they're for the unimplemented pvp more than anything.

The only reason to care about the first one was that there hadn't been an Armored Core game in ages.
Anonymous No.723072793 [Report]
>>723072669
Well the other reason is because even with armored core some people don't like hard games with no options to make them easier.

>But everyone uses the pieces with high memory Pallas or whatever
Everyone who?
The people who end up as fertilizer for Solomon because they can't dodge for shit?
Explorer/Primus body+legs with maybe Weiss Arms/some weapon arms and the three or four heads that are actually viable are the meta because you go so fast nothing can catch up to you, Memory isn't an issue either, you don't need more than 1K memory in this game to be gamebreaking even on Hard.
>Light mechs suck they can't hold shit
Outside of the fact that you do not need more than a single melee weapon to shit on the game, lightweights can go up to 1500 memory easily thanks to clownsuiting and that's far more than you'll ever need considering back weapons and Aux that aren't the Sat Shield are completely useless.
The vast majority of Memory hungry weapons are either really bad or just passable in the current state of the game and Pallas head alone can give you an upwards of 800 Memory, even with full explorer outside of the head slot, which is very starved for memory, you're going to hit 1500 memory easily with attachments, full Primus with decent rolls, which is the best allrounder set in the game and can do anything, can net you 1500 memory as a baseline without including memory reduction attachments on your weapons.

Not by a wide margin considering Explorer exist, and tomorrow's update will make them even more questionable since Amalgamate arms also have 200 melee baseline.
Auxiliary armor is nice and all but again, pointless since the meta is speed and not getting hit, though I guess if you really like spamming onslaught on a mace it's the best thing you can have.
Anonymous No.723073990 [Report] >>723074592 >>723074753

This game has no reason to exist in the first place and while the original targeted Switch users it still managed to fuck that up, now the sequel somehow doesn't target Switch 2 users, it's initial audience since the Switch 2 version looks and runs like shit, even worse than the Steam Deck comparing docked, and it actually looks and runs significantly worse than Tears of the Kingdom.
This is just what Japanese developers do these days, they make a game that nobody asked for and then fail to hone it into something that any audience would realistically want, if you like mecha games and only have Nintendo hardware play Xenoblade X, it looks and runs better on the original Switch, if you have other platforms play Armored Core, the series this series was supposed to be a spiritual successor to before Armored Core was revived.
For the Switch 2 it's nice that it comes on an actual game card but they had to make a game that people wanted in the first place.

Its because its not a game. Its an asset showcase. None of the gameplay parts had more than 10 minutes of design put into them.
The guns sound like peashooters
none of the enemies are interesting or challenging
None of the upgrades change the gameplay in any perceptible way.

its like they made all the assets and mechanics then forgot to make a game out of them.

This is wrong, Fusion skills enable completely different playstyles, sniper rifles are literally not viable without stealth for instance, Combo Thrust is what makes Jarngreipr top tier and wouldn't even be viable without Limit Change etc.

Idk i played for a total of 7 hours and i got various parts, upgrade attachments and gizmos and i couldnt tell the difference when using any of them. It was just customization for the sake of customization without any reward/punishment in the gameplay component. Just endless scrolling through partslists and removing the [NEW] highlights for shit id never use.

And even the armors had different variants with different stats other than its baseline so not only you had different armor LINES with minimal difference, you had individual PARTS still differ. But none of the stats really mattered I guess until lategame? I didnt stick around to see.
Why would i bother navigating this massive timewaster sea of parts and thingies just to go out to the field and shoot at a purple balloon enemy 7 times.

I really dont understand what they were thinking

When you think about it all the different monster hunter weapon upgrades are like that too. There is a huge difference in weapon classes but inside the weapon class they could just have a flat bar for atk upgrade and that is it.
