i normally play a couple League of Legends ARAMs or Overwatch quickplay games before bed
other than that i normally find a singleplayer game that interests me and read the lore about it
big singleplayer games like elden ring don't really stick with me, since my gaming sessions are short and it feels like a chore to finish them after a while
i still enjoy shorter games, normally indie games, like metal garden, hypnagogia boundless dreams, lunacid, or recently, the demo for prison of husks, but i only enjoy these because the games are relatively short, so i can finish them before i get bored and go back to overwatch
but generally, casual pvp slop does it for me
i enjoy winning, but i don't care enough to grind ranked

i think one of the reasons i still enjoy league is because i never grinded ranked
i'd pick a character that looks cool, main them in normal games until i felt comfortable with them, play them until i got bored, limit test matchups to see how strong they are, and then either go back to aram, or find a new champ
lee sin was definitely the most fun champ to learn due to his mobility options, but simple stat check champs like garen, trundle, illaoi, felt super satisfying to play because if you played well, you were basically unstoppable if the enemy couldn't kite you or lock you down
the game absolutely sucks when all you do is grind ranked, but if you treat it casually it can still have good moments

so I get home around 5~ usually they let us go early
from then I eat and shower and I can be in my gaming chair by 6
from that point I usually play until 8-9 and then watch some shows
on a weekend I go out to buy groceries and then just game all day / night

That's literally all it comes down to. If you don't have the monkeybrain instinct to do it then there is no logical answer you will ever arrive at that will justify having kids, it's completely irrational and not pleasant and there is no intrinsic reward.

I don't completely disagree, but the legacy argument is often used by people who have nothing to offer their kids.
There are certainly ways to build a lasting legacy through a family business, generational wealth, giving back to your community, etc., but the vast majority of people will be forgotten within 2 generations.
You also have to come to terms with your children (and their children's children) being independent people who may not share the same vision as you, so the more time goes on, the likelier it is for one of them to squander everything on hookers and blow

If you live in the US, you can see if there's a Peopleready in your area. It's a day labor temp agency where you don't have to interview and shit. You just open their app after you've been hired and set up with an account, pick an available job, and show up. As long as you've got direct deposit set up you get paid at the end of the day. Big thing to keep in mind is that they're just a day labor temp agency though so it's basically all manual labor and you're not going to make a career or even have a steady job doing it. Still puts money in your pocket and gives you something to put on your resume if you've got some serious gaps.

When they ask about employment gaps they are mostly assessing how much you actually need employment in order to survive. If you have a large gap in your employment history, it implies you can live without employment, and it’s harder to make you a wage slave. They want somebody who needs wage bucks in order to survive, not someone who can safely quit their job at any time.

I've been planning to extend my college another 2 years to get a master's in some IT field so I can do remote work. How do you who are currently doing this able to get away with playing video games while working? What kind of video games are you playing? How long? How does your manager not see or know?
