My Walmart's Xbox section was still filled up and had actual Xbox games in it, so this might just vary heavily by location. I would like it if stores were getting rid of Xbox stuff, but I'm not sure if there's really an actual corporate plan to remove the brand from stores entirely.

Is there any reason to own an Xbox at this point? I actually did get the SeX but ended up taking it back because I felt it was so inferior to the PS5. I then went on to find out most of its physical media isn't even actually on the disc since the games require a download.

After playing Metroid Prime I could care less about Gaylo. The sci-fi and alien worlds in Metroid is far better. The older I get the more I am starting to realize the series was always overrated. We simply didn't have enough actually decent console FPS in its heyday is all. Nintendo practically abandoned the genre after the N64 once they lost Rare. This is actually so true. If they had this way of thinking back in the day Halo would have probably been the first AAA game series back in the day to get 30+ million sales. Only GTA was ever really approaching such numbers around that time as far as AAA console game sales goes. If you added PS3 and a watered down Wii port as well as a PC port for Halo 3 during Halo's absolute peak of popularity I could easily see the game having sold 30+ million. This probably would have assured Halo's dominance for the foreseeable future as well. Gen Z has no idea how popular Halo truly once was. Its popularity today is a mere fraction of what it once had.

If GTA 6 has an insane scope with all the money that has been spent on it, it's going to be really bad for the industry because people will expect other AAA games to be similar. XBOX dying is incredibly bad news for Playstation. Those former XBOX players will for the most parts not move over to Playstation - PC is the more obvious option with the apps and software already existing there. No one is gonna give up the majority of their XBOX titles and start fresh on Playstation.
And you know what that means for Playstation? In a battle which will be essentially just PC and Playstation PC is gonna absorb the majority of that marketshare. So now PC will be even more of a priority for publishers with Playstation becoming a small afterthought.
