Even as someone that bought a 9070 xt I'm kinda tired of talking about this but AMD kind of overshot with the 9070 cards. The were made to compete with the 5070 and 5070 ti and instead compete with the 5070 ti and 5080 if AMD knew the 5000 series cards were only going to be 5% stronger then the 4000 series they would have priced the 9000 cards higher

No the 5080 still pulls ahead big time and you really can tell specialy when using the ai crap. Results in raw performance varies from game to game but id say if the trend keeps being UE5 slop then you should be getting a Nvidia GPU if you just want the best value you and nothing else then you go for AMD

AMDs good denoiser (ray reconstruction on Nvidia) still not out but when it does come it'll be too heavy for any current amd gpu, so still no (good) path tracing on these in the future.

Why is Nvidia suddenly having so many driver issues? Having good drivers was the main thing they were known for.

Any 9070 xt is capable of a steep undervolt at no cost to performance, I'm running a slight overclock on my Red Devil while setting -85 mv and a -50% on the wattage draw maxing my games out at around 200-220w. AMD sets out of box power limits high to account for all bins.

I don't need to undervolt because the card already draws very little power and stays very cool. It doesn't have the issue with all of the power going through one rail because I already stress tested it. I'll play with undervolt and OC settings because it has a ton of headroom if I have trouble getting the FPS I want in any game, but I bought the card for 1440p (upgrade from a 12gb 3080 that I did undervolt and OC) and it does 1440p incredibly well. More so than that, I don't really play modern AAA games. The last one I tried was KCD2 but I ended up refunding it. I was considering selling this and getting a 5080 super when they come out for the extra VRAM for production work, but the base 5080 is surprisingly good for everything I do, and I don't do an AI gen stuff so I just don't need the VRAM. By the time the 6090 is out I'm sure that one will actually be able to play everything in 4K at at least 120fps so I'll make the full 4K jump then.
