An annual collaboration project where /v/ sings about video games for a full month, from September 15 through October 15. The final week is here and we're closing it out strong, get your last minute work ready!

You can time lyrics to help out now! The Finished sheet has a column for them.

Options:
1. MusicBee
2. LRC generator online

For this particular site, you paste the lyrics into the text area then click 'Synchronize to music'.

You will be taken to a new page, in here you can load your audio track using the Audio button, and start the playback with the START button.

In order to mark which line is being sang, you need to click on the 'Next Line' button as the line starts being sung (click upon hearing something, not in anticipation for consistency with others), the lyric in the text area will be highlighted white letting you know the line was tagged.

You do this for the entire song then you wait it to end. I don't know if it was a bug that specifically happened for me or not, but the only way I could tell the song ended was because the timer on the now pause button stopped counting up.

From here, you should have reached the end of the lyrics you posted. You need to click 'Next Line' one more time and the button should now be replaced with a 'Get File' button which will download the .lrc file to your PC.

Now, I just extract the content by opening the .lrc file with a text editor (even plain Notepad works) and take only the timed lyric lines alongside timestamps and paste them into a new .txt or directly into the Rentry. Some tips if you want to pretty it up:

1. Add an extra [00:00.00] timing to the start of the text, it makes the start of the song clean. See any on the sheet for an example.
2. Delete the website's advertising bit at the end, it breaks nothing to do so.
3. Listen as you time and if the singfag changed lyrics, fix it to what they sang in the text afterwards if you can. Wrong lyrics defeat the point after all.

Any time I listen to a new track from now on I'll just listen through the site and time the lyrics at the same time, and I think that's something anyone here can do.

I believe there's a couple songs with takes on the unfinished tab that were never moved to the general edits one.
Claim Free, Hamborgah and what's youw pwobwem? to name a few. I don't know if the writers are waiting for anything else, just throwing it out there in case they haven't checked the sheet. I know some are waiting on backing vocals, but sometimes they'd rather have it mixed without them than not get them in the musical at all so, just throwing it out there.

we have like 10% more written songs, though there's some vagueness there since some are repeats carried over from past years, and some finished stuff gets cut from unfinished. writefags put in good work this year regardless.

it's always a toss up on what our final song count will be, but we're in a good position to roughly match last year in total sung songs. it's no competition but it's always nice to see us not severely decline or bloat with too much garbage, and we're at a good spot without a doubt.

Victory unto /v/ adding the character when it wasn't in the original art kinda screws with the artistic merit it has. iirc it probably lost because it entered twice, once with and once without the character, so not everyone that wanted to vote for it voted for the same version. same happened with a parappa art last year, I liked that one a lot but there was an alt version that siphoned votes away so both lost.

The winners for XI weren't especially strong in general, looking back. I do think some are aesthetically pleasing or took serious work but if I listed my top 20 covers of /v/tm I don't think a single one of these makes the cut except maaybe VR Time Will Come if it beats out the similar albums that anon made for a few years. some of the ones this year blow most of these out.

I typically find like an 80% success rate roughly and it's true this year as well. Pretty much all of the songs I was proudest in got picked up pretty quickly so I feel like I'm a good judge of my own work by this point.

Thanks for the heads up, that's super kino. Gnosia is unironically an amazing game and I got a lot of fun reaction images out of it. The fact that they made an among-us style deduction game (based on werewolf/mafia) before Among Us blew up was cool, and of many games that tried it's my favorite by a mile.
Overall an amazing cast, and the fact that they managed to make a social deduction game unironically work as a single player experience blows my mind to this day. A combination of simple RPG stat mechanics and giving every character a distinct personality and backstory that plays directly into how they participate in the game just made it such a unique experience to play. I have never had a video game that made me think of the cast as "people" so well, but having to sus out things like "this chick doesn't care if we're both human, if I piss her off she's going to try and get me killed and probably succeed" and "oh shit, X character really likes Y character, no wonder they act irrationally when I accuse Y" was just so engaging. It sounds much better, too, if I add Balance Fx in Mixxx, set all the way to side, and Wet mixed into Dry (not replacing).
Gives it much wider soundstage and is better sounding.
