Dark Souls 1 was nearly perfect but unfinished in the second half, they show us a trailer for 2 that looks amazing then when it comes out it's 4 long hallways with shit NPCS, shit matte textures, shitty unfinished areas, shit enemy placement, shit new systems that prevent multiplayer, removed or altered areas from the trailer, and a shit vague story about no one remembering anything. One of the greatest let downs and rushed cash grab trash fires ever.
The DLCs and SotFS BARELY redeem it but it's still just 4 hallways that lead to bosses. No interconnected, intricate map.

At this point idk how Fromsoft got this popular. I sometimes question the power and influence they have since the output has been mediocre or trash with the genre. It's like if a third world country was given first world status: they got one thing right but the more you look at the more problems they have that are not easy to ignore. Same the qualities of these games: they're challenging (meme) but everything else is apparently bad from story, writing, technical, performance, and graphical point of view.
