My backlog has 100+ games yet I only beat around 3 games a month.
What do?
Would spending extra time curating my backlog and removing games I've lost interest in help?

Only if you keep adding shit to your backlog. I've already finished 33 games (give or take, need to double check) so far this year. My main method is to give a game at least 2 hours. If I absolutely don't give a flying fuck about it after those initial 2 hours, I just move onto something else. The minute you realize that you don't have to finish literally everything you add to your backlog, and accept that some of the shit on there you probably aren't going to like or get into, will be when you really start to see progress in clearing it.

Just stop adding shit then. Limit yourself. You can't add a game, until you clear at least 3 games or something like that. At the very least, it'll make it to where you actually put a dent in the backlog because you won't be adding shit at a faster rate than you're clearing them.

Honestly, if that's all you can muster, there's not much you can do. Just keep playing what you can. I finish 150-200 games a year, and still doesn't make a dent in my list of games I want to play. Just play what looks interesting, knowing you will never finish the list.

each month dedicate to 1 long game and have a bunch of short games to beat in between sessions of the long game. use howlongtobeat to give you an idea of which you should play next. also, don't be afraid of dropping games that you are not enjoying, no point in wasting time on not having fun. also also, avoid "infinite" games if your goal is to clear a bunch of your backlog.
anyways, that is a pretty good looking backlog, kind of similar to mine.

Who cars, you still get to play videogames. My backlog has 150+ and I just keep playing them.
Right now I'm on my way to play the Fallout games and I don't worry over the fact that meanwhile more games gonna be launched and get added to my backlog.
The whole point is to play games, not finish a list.

Just clear your backlog completely. It's not real and you don't have to feel obligated to play any or all of the games on it.

The thing that helped me with my backlog problem was setting a rule that i'll only buy a game if im going to play it right now. If not, then i'll buy it later, even if it means losing a sale and paying full price for it.

This actually helped me save money.

I just treat mine as a list of interesting games should I run out of stuff to play. For example just finished BOTW even though it had been sitting there ever since it became playable on Cemu. Anyway that game kinda sucked but I did have fun. No idea how people gave this 10/10, it has like 2 flaws for every 1 good thing.
