Not really.
Using schools as a comparison
>Boomer
Teachers could beat your ass and there was a mandatory course on cursive.
>Gen X
Physical punishments start getting phased out, typing classes become predominant (for typewriters) alongside cursive.
>Millennial
Physical punishments are basically fully phased out.
Kids are expected to learn how to use computers, and for late millennials, make emails, use word processors, etc.
>Zoomer
Technology is fully integrated with most schools, including full computer labs, and the kids of this time now all have some form of portable technology (namely smartphones- the iPhone launching when the oldest zoomer would've been 10, and the youngest would've been non-existent).
>Gen Alpha
Stunted social development as many of them spent their peak socialization years in lockdown, and immediately after that ends, AI is introduced to the system.
This is why the rate of cheating is so high now. Kids went from cheating because it was all online to cheating because they have a little AI buddy feeding them answers.
For context on this, the oldest GenAlpha would've been 7-8 during the covid pandemic, and the youngest that would've been effected would've been born around 2017. That's basically a lost generation right there, half the gen was unable to interact with people their age in a school environment in those early years- Kindergarten -> Second Year.
And now, with AI, it's likely they will face the brunt of the consequences of that and how it will effect schooling. Zoomers are also effected, but a majority of them use it knowingly as a tool for cheating in HS and College/University. Gen Alpha is using it out of convenience- like it's the new form of a calculator. They won't get why they can't/shouldn't use it, just that their teacher is telling them not to.
Will be fascinating to see what comes next.
