Horror IS a genre but what scares someone may not be scary to someone else. That said, there is something that should be scary to each and every one of us even if ''nothing is scary for absolutely everyone'' is simultaneously true.

i've seen something similar argued an infinite number of times here on /v/ over the past decade plus, which is "it didn't scare me so it's shit"
i'm not expecting to be literally afraid for my life while i sit here in my room. I just like the theming of horror so it still has merit to me.
