As annoying as it could be, more games should have a stumble. If you change directions too fast or something it rolls a die and you have a chance to trip or stumble. But I'd put some kind of cap on it. If it's a long campaign then it only happens loke maybe 3 or 4 times. More likely early on, less likely after you've done plenty of running around.
Sounds like it would be fun to workshop too, try to find that balance between immersion and annoying.
