Just go to any PC shop online, buy your parts and pay the $50-100 fee for them to build it, better value than the pre built and you get a warranty on the build. If you don't build yourself that's the next best option.

There is a micro center nearby where I live, what are the best parts to get to build a pc for the first time? I’ve also read they can build the pc for you for a small fee. What are some mistakes I should avoid for picking what’s best? The only gpu I know is that 5090 which I think has meme status as other gpus can do the same for less

After looking up a quick benchmark, those Xeons perform basically the same or slightly worse than the Ryzen 3600 and I'd also say the Ryzen is better since you could upgrade to a 5800X3D or something if you wanted, while the Xeon would basically be a dead end.

I highly doubt this.
Anonymous No.723128152 >>723128805

Also, the Ryzen would probably be better for games since it's a super common consumer CPU and not a relatively uncommon repurposed server/workstation CPU thus better optimized.

1. Don't buy shit from China.
2. 500 bucks / euros gets you a fine used PC or parts necessary to BUILD one.

I just upgraded my Windows 7 era wormbox to Asus B550-Pro mobo + Ryzen 5 5600X + 32GB DDR4 + RTX 3060 12GB, for mere 550 €, late last year.

Runs anything BUT the Unreal 5 slop silky smooth 60fps at native 1200p, and has great upgrade choices when needed.

"oh my cousins pc has an i5 and he plays the newest games so it must be good". no. i5 is a broad spectrum, some i5s will be equal to a PS2 processor and some I5s could compete with a PS4. when a PC's description just says "intel i5" without specifying what model it is you can guarantee it's some kind of $20 processor from a landfill

I am starting to legitimately believe that this is real. When I built my PC, it refused to boot while I tried installing and reinstalling the parts and shifting RAM sticks until I cut my finger and shifted the RAM stick one last time, and then suddenly everything worked. Now, the same shit happened again, with the computer refusing to boot until I cut my finger and shifted the RAM for the thousandth time.

No.
They're almost universally shit.
Unless you have a real need to move your gaming PC around a lot, don't do it.

Outside of a prebuilt or just building your own though there is another laptop option-
Buy a decent business laptop in the screen size you want then add an eGPU.
You can upgrade GPUs later and CPU isn't nearly as important to upgrade (also the cooling on a business laptop will deal with a CPU alone at 100% anyway)

is there a microcenter you can get to? because if you can get to one they have in store bundles that will give you a beast for a bargain. you could even pay them to build it for you and it will be much cheaper than a prebuilt online
Anonymous No.723145115
Probably better to get something second hand off ebay.

Play through the best of the 90's to now. Then pass it on and upgrade, or use what it can do to make stuff.
The lights there are in bad taste.

Also better to get something portable. You can't rely on your situation staying stable. The less you can't leave behind the more you can move.
Should have free storage, so nobody bins what they love. But govt is nigger kike cancer cunt runt student faggot shit.

minipcs are usually slightly more powerful for the money spent and have better cooling since they aren't shackled by power efficiency, not to mention you don't need to worry about a two year lifespan because of the battery. The only thing modern laptops are good for is producing e-waste.

If you want a cheap+easy option
Look for a second hand dell PC with an 8th gen or newer intel processor. Theyre cheap as fuck with window 10 support ending. slap in an intel arc a350 or rtx 3050 (low profile if its a mini case) which both dont need extra power connectors.

It'll be much better than that prebuilt and around the same price. For the minimal effort of just plugging in a gpu.

find hte motherboard manual and find the connector guide and find where they put the fan pins
or
just look at the board and find the pins that say something akin to "fan1" etc
other than having only 1-3 sets of fan pins the other limiting factor of adding in a new fan would be if the case doesnt have any proper mounting spots
