I hated ww as a kid due to changes but played it as an adult. It's one of the best games ever my only criticism is the forst half of the game has way too mich backtracking. The 2nd half is pure kino and some of the best pop gameplay ever

I'll be honest I just ran through the entire second half, thankfully they don't wall you into any sections. Don't super care for PoP gameplay, enemies are super tanky and just sits on guard. In the first game you can just instakill wallspike everything, WW you run past, Two Thrones you suffer.

The game came out just when the whole early 00s edginess thing went out of fashion. Nothing is ever more unfashionable and widely ridiculed than right after its peak. If it had come out a year earlier it would've been more accepted.

I replay those games on PC every year and I have no issues on modern hardware. Just get widescreen patch and xinput controller support from PCGamingWiki and thats it you just copy two files to games folder and it runs perfectly fine. PoP games in general never gave me trouble unlike many other PC ports from that era.

I always liked 08. Even when ppl shat on the game due to the inability to die. My biggest issue is the combat system. Its so damn good too bad ubisoft coders made every fight be inside an arena so you can never combo off fully cuz u hit the "wall" and it interupts ur combo

For me this was the absolute peak of "what if that one game, but edgy?"
And I mean that in the best of ways. This game was made for the person I was when it came out.

I played through on PCSX2 too. In fact this year soon I plan to replay trilogy using Dolphin since I never played GameCube versions before. I played em all be it Rivals DS game or PSP versions but never GC ports.
