Square Enix is expected to announce the end of service for *Ever Crisis* soon, with the shutdown reportedly set for 28 January 2026.

Word around is that the project’s been losing money, and they’re planning to roll out a new *Dissidia* title as its replacement.

Not sure whether they’ll release any more chapters for the main *Ever Crisis* storyline, but the young Sephiroth arc is due to conclude next week.

They’ve also just wrapped up Glen’s side story, as he’s said to have a major role in *Final Fantasy VII: Return* (Remake Part 3), particularly in the Wutai segment and the later siege on Midgar.

I have really enjoyed EC at a few points. Climbing that 30 floor brutal tower and taking on the Bahmut-Ifrit fight was actually, genuinely fun. That said, the game has been pretty shit recently. I would hope they'd simply fix it, but at least if they did shut it down, it wouldn't keep me playing a shit game.
