Assamite or Lasombra seem like the best candidate to prod just how far the devs were willing to integrate the MC into the greater WoD history and its recent evolutions. As such they do feel like great candidate for a first run, for players that are already pretty much involved with the tabletop.

Best case scenario is another studio pays to use the VTMB trademark and makes something without Paradox's involvement.
My guess is we will see an actual VTMB Remake eventually because there are only so many notable IPs that haven't had the Remake treatment yet.

What we know is that the game is set up to last 9 nights, and we play Fabien's memories during the day whily the MC is asleep. That doesn't tell us in any way how long each night/day can be in term of gameplay, which is compounded by the free roam aspect of the game.
All in all, we don't know, but I would expect the Fabien segments to be overall significantly shorter, it being a former DLC repurposed into the game. But that's just an uneducated guess.

I don't know, seems more to me they knew what they wanted, they just discovered along the way of making it that they did not have the skill to pull it off, so they repurposed everything.
Bloodlines 2 seems of a different cloth: the devs seemingly know they can't pull complex gameplay (as I've been saying for a few threads, they were at least smart enough not to try and actually go full Dishonored in term of level design and systemic complexity, as far as we can see), so they've kept things simple. Now, they can still fail even that, but it does seem less likely.
