I find myself thinking about this every time I see modern ROBLOX, man. I get that times change, and ROBLOX was successful enough to totally sell out, but holy fuck it's wild how much it transformed and just how quickly everything else got flushed down the drain. Remember servers that actually advocated you build your own shit in the gamemode compared to just being a CSGO clone?

I really feel like ROBLOX really lost all of it's respect when they stopped marketing themselves to their old audience. Back then, it was a kids MMO where it encouraged creativity and nothing more, but ever since they had to rebrand as a Steam competitor due to the MMO fad dying, they bribed their usershow you can "make money" for making games despite people just making it for fun back then and ROBLOX games shouldn't be worth anything regardless. They went from kids making games for kids because they loved building or showing support to something they enjoy to third worlder capitalist trying to steal their kid's wallets. Sure the lawsuit was the final nail in the coffin, but the signs were there from the very beginning, people tried to stop it and they failed. It's fucking sad, now it will forever be remembered as a meme, a joke.

That really is it. I remember very similar points being shouted out by randoms on the forums when ROBLOX had them, and before the forums, random people on servers. I was a dumbass kid then, sure, but I never really considered the game would reach a point where you literally just couldn't even converse with people regularly in chat where all you get is gibberish or censored text back. What a weird, bleak slow boil this whole thing has been leading up to this point.
